“This pizza place has the best pizza in spite of being right next door to another pizza store. One of the guys in the back Steve is an excellent chef and makes the Italian pizza. The service is always good even if there's a long wait the guys are always hustling to get things done courteous one time I overheard him saying it was his full that Emil wasn't ready in time he apologized and took ownership and the customer was happy on the phone. “This place is the real deal. It was for places like this that the tem "hole in the wall" was invented. Food is delicious. Comforting, filling, tasty. Even the coca cola tastes better than usual. Menu and pricing are a bit odd: some parts of the menu look really cheap and other parts look really expensive. Keep in mind that the "giant" burritos are truly giant: definitely big enough for two people. Digs have a local, hidden feel. Tables are in close quarters and when I went the place was full of people. There is a nice outdoor rooftop seating area.”

“I thought I reviewed this, but maybe not. The Original Q Shack is vastly superior to the other Q Shack location. This is currently my favorite BBQ place anywhere, and also has quite tasty hush puppies. If you want parking, you might have to arrive later on in the day, as it gets crowded and some of the adjacent lots tow. The music playlist has recently switched from bluegrass to classic country, which is also quite the improvement.”

In the summer, especially, there is nothing like a plate of nachos with my wife after a hot day at work and yard work. She loves their margaritas. “Me and some of my friends came here for dinner tonight. I was skeptical at first, not because of the way the restaurant looked, but because I’m just a skeptical person in general and am a harsh critic when it comes to pizza. We ordered 4 meat lovers pizza and well I can safely say I had 8 slices. The pizza was phenomenal. And for the cherry on top the owner personally came outside, greeted us and was insistent on making sure our experience was great. 5 stars. Would recommend to everyone.”

“The cake made by The Refectory Cafe’s pastry chef Rosa for our wedding was FABULOUS. We have several close family members who have gluten intolerance, so we wanted a cake they could share with us and The Refectory Cafe’s lemon raspberry cake with cream cheese frosting was divine. You would never even know it was gluten free. Rosa gave us a very fair price for the largest size (12”) round cake. It was very tall, with lots of lucious icing, and served ~40-50 people (when cut like a usual wedding cake). It was extremely fresh and moist. Everyone raved about it. She kept the decoration simple (some piping around the edge) per our request, so our florist could easily add some fresh flowers for decoration. The catering manager, Geri, was wonderful to work with. She was easy to reach by phone/email and helped coordinate getting some requested paperwork to our venue coordinator. She checked in immediately after the wedding to make sure everything had gone smoothly. We have been to The Refectory Cafe many times together for both their savory food and desserts (highly recommend both) and are so glad we were able to make this local business a part of our wedding day!”

“The food here is great, but they are sooooo slow. You can wait an hour for a plate of pancakes. The wait staff is pleasant but incredibly slow to deliver food or even refill a drink. I could blame the kitchen staff for taking a long time to cook and tray up the food, but when you wait twenty minutes for a refill for your soda, that's definitely the server's fault. The food is the one redeeming feature.”
