“It was my husband and I first time. Food was really good, taste good, portions were generous and it really took me back to my country ( Colombia 🇨🇴) my husband had chicken cordon blue, and I was more exotic with the oxtail which was great in flavor and texture. So, if you want to try something Dominican, I think that it is a good place to start”

The husband and wife team that were running the bar were SPECTACULAR! Friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, fun! We had some great chat about beers, liquors, cocktails, bitters, and more. The space is large but inviting. Great indoor AND outdoor space. We will be back for sure!”

The wings were very mediocre, however. The vibe was great so I was very surprised that the place was not busy at all on a Friday evening.”

“Loved it! Highly recommended! Food was authentically delicious, Ambience was charming, the service was top-notch and owners were there to greet and ask for genuine feedback. Every dish we sampled was delightful, but my standout favorites were Chicken Malai Tikka and Lamb Palak. What truly impressed me was the tender, perfectly cooked meat, a feature that has sometimes fallen short at other Indian restaurants I have visited. I’m already looking forward to returning to explore more delicious offerings from the menu.”

“Now this place is excellent. I like how you can order online ahead of time. It makes it easy to get in and get out. The variety of food they have impressed me the most I was shocked they had Poke and plenty of other things. I’ve been to this place twice. The first time I had a poke bowl, and the second time I had the wings. The wings were delicious! I ordered honey garlic, and it was a great choice.”

Apéritif

Address: 3105 Shannon Rd Suite 203, Durham, NC 27707, USA

Restaurant

“Nice spot in Durham for a light bite, drinks and amazing dessert! We did find the seating to be a bit challenging for the tall folks in our group - come prepared for casual seating and not many formal dining tables. Cocktails were all tasty and very reasonably priced and the extensive wine menu has plenty of choices. We also enjoyed the draft beer menu. Food was good - especially the different sandwiches but it was the desserts that stole the show. Get the PB chocolate mousse and the banana blondie caramel brownie and you won’t be disappointed!”

Mr. Don’s Famous Chicken & Ribs

Address: 3311 Guess Rd, 1018 W Main St, Durham, NC 27705, USA

Restaurant

“My husband and I attended the grand opening and thoroughly enjoyed all the food and music. We ordered every entree and the meat was seasoned and prepared to perfection. The sides were also unbelievably delicious. The potato salad tasted as good as my husband’s. Our suggestion is to ordered the fried fish and sit down at eat them hot and add hot sauce that is provided then order the chicken and ribs to go. Please stop by and show Don and his entourage that you will support an excellent quality but delicious soul food tradition in our local community. Love Gerald and Sonya Butler”

Playa Bowls

“A seriously good Açaí Bowl. Bright and very loud place. Next time I think I will skip the juice, not a quality thing it just took forever, they probably pumped out 25 bowls before I got my juice🤷🏻‍♂️”

Szechuan Mansion Hotpot _ Durham

Address: 746 9th St, Durham, NC 27705, USA

Restaurant

“Great place and great atmosphere. We had the two flavors hot pot combo b with an exercise of spam fried rice. All the places to eat here are on one side of the street like an old west town and there's street parking which may be difficult to find and is a large parking lot across the street where there is a Harris teeter with their sign saying don't park there so you make it towed if you do. Food came out quickly obviously since you cook it yourself and you boil it up and eat it and it was pretty good. The spam fried rice was okay. It wasn't very flavorful so you might want to skip that, but it was only $1.99 and the place does not have their sanitation grade prominently displayed. It's sitting over there by the cash register. You can barely see it says 9 either eight or zero. Regardless, we drove a long way and decided to try it and overall it was pretty good so definitely a good place to try. All of the food you see in the picture below cost about 60 bucks. And they have a bar where you can make your own sauces. With some recipes above, you can dip your meat in.”

“Awesome taco truck! If you’re in the durham area stop by and enjoy a beautifully stuffed barbacoa burrito!”

Wheat 麦茶

Address: 810 9th St #130, Durham, NC 27705, USA

Restaurant

“I was pretty sad to see the last restaurant that was here go, but man, was this delicious and a great new option. Most of their menu items seemed to be noodle soups, but that’s kind of what I was looking for. They did have non-soup options as well, but far fewer. It also seemed very authentic and not too dumbed down or Americanized. I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp as an appetizer, which was straight forward but very good. I liked the hot pepper seasoning that came with it. Wish it came with a sauce, but I dipped it in my soup from my entree. For my entree I ordered the beef noodle soup, which was braised beef. The portion was solid, with lots of noodles, and the beef was faaaaantastic, delicious and perfectly cooked to wear it just melts in your mouth. The broth was so good I couldn’t stop eating it when I felt full. I asked to make it extra spicy and the accommodated. I thought the prices were reasonable and the staff were kind and efficient. Service was quick, super cute and clean atmosphere. I’m excited to come back and try some more!!!”
