The Old Fourth Street Filling Station

One of my favorites for many years now. The outdoor patio space is the absolute best in Winston Salem. Partly covered and, at times, heated, and the rest open, under a canopy of mature trees, the outdoor seating is quite comfortable. They have a great menu with plenty of variety. Every time I have been there the folks at our table found something delicious to enjoy. Their inside dining is perfect for business lunches as the booths are spacious and it's not so loud as to make conversation difficult. Plus they have a bar with all ABC permits and a good selection of wines.
This restaurant has stood the test of time by countinuing to offer excellent ambience, food and service. If you have not yet been here, it's easily in the top 10 places you have to try.

I have eaten many meals in Winston-Salem over the last 17 years, and the seafood pasta I ate here last week was my best Winston-Salem meal ever. It might even be my best seafood pasta ever. I hope to return and eat it again one day soon, and I wish I had photographed it for posterity.

I really like the rustic outdoor dining where you can be casual or formal. The food is great! I had crab cakes. Nice atmosphere and waitresses that take care of you! This place is high on my list.

Great food and friendly staff. Shrimp and grits were especially good. Also the calamari is very good. Would definitely dine here again!

Good place to stop in and enjoy the upbeat essence of a college town. Craft beer is always available and goes good with your comfort food meal. Nice historic spot. Big fireplace, outdoor dining in the pretty garden. Their drinks are delicious. Personally I like the lemon drop martini. Love dining here. The food is always delicious and plentiful. Our server, Kasey B was awesome. She checked back with us regularly, but wasn’t intrusive. We never had to ask for drink refills; she just filled them. I swear I think they were grilling the burgers outside. They were yummy. They have drink specials, lunch specials. The atmosphere is quiet cozy.
