Love this place. Food was really good. Got all my taste buds awake. Nothing better than southern cooking. Places like this make a great night out. Places like this you don't forget. Mean this in most positive way. Service was great. Sweet potatoes are awesome. Great experience. Thank you.
Absolutely the best southern/soul food I have ever tasted (well besides my grandmother's)! There is no doubt that pride is taken in the recipes. And to top it all off the staff are friendly, kind and courteous. We were treated as family and not just a patron. Highly highly highly recommend this place and I know we will go back many times. Oh and excellent jazz music playing the whole time.
We visited on Saturday at lunch. The restaurant was crowded and we had a short wait. The service was good. The restaurant is small and tables are close together. Our waitress was nice and personable. We had to wait a little on our food. The food was good and flavorful. I had the mambo chicken sandwich with waffle fries. It was delicious. I enjoyed visit. Delicious southern cooking - so much food , so much fun! Southern fried chicken and jambalaya perfected !
This place was amazing! The dining room is cozy and the staff was friendly. Charles, our waiter, was courteous and took time to chat us up. Their menu had combinations or ingredients that I never could have imagined going so well together. It is located on Trade St which surrounds this place with tons of other shops, restaurants and experiences.
Third time in less than a week. Had the catfish and grits with a side order of grilled shrimp, grilled onions, spicy greens and Chuckies special (alcohol included) punch. Of course I had to take majority of this home. That slice of Sweet potato pie though. Jesus. Will surely go back. Drive from Greensboro (close to Burlington) is well worth it. Prices are very reasonable for the portion and flavor. The grits are smooth and creamy. Hubby had the, "It's A Sunday Thing". Sure enough the chicken was cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere. Packed as it should be.
