Shoney's

We went to try the breakfast on Saturday morning. We were pleased to learn that the breakfast buffet is kept stocked until 2pm. Everything was well stocked and kept very clean and orderly. Staff was friendly and prompt! We'll return again to give another try to lunch or dinner.

My wife and I decided to ditch our family on Thanksgiving to drive 500 miles to see mountains. We decided this was as good a place as any to have Thanksgiving dinner. Being the only place open helped, but we don't have many Shoney's where we live so we probably would have eaten here anyway. Thankfully we made the right choice. The food was fresh, varied, plentiful, and delicious. My favorite was the greens.

Normally Shoney's is high 5, but they slipped on this visit. The buffett was not attended to well on this day. Only one pancake and no more ever came while we were there? The grits,or were those grit soup they were so runny. And my son asked for a refill of hot water for his hot tea, and never got. I hope the mew Shoney's the best but this day wasn't!

Food was delicious. I had the mushroom Swiss chicken entreé. Steamed veggies are actually soft and just need a dash of salt. Waiter kept my drink filled; service was overall very friendly yet not overbearing.

Accompanying family also enjoyed their meals: the buffet, and the mushroom Swiss burger. French fries were cooked well.

Wednesday 9:30am 11/20/19- Walked right in and got a table for 2 with no waiting (restaurant was 3/4 full); $8.99 Breakfast bar was stocked with a wide variety of tasty choices (and the coffee was also decent). It was a very pleasant atmosphere/ nice & clean, and table service was prompt & friendly. We had a wonderful experience and will be returning frequently!
