Menya Daruma

Authentic noodle counter that makes their stock and noodles in house! I ordered the pork gyoza and the O.G. Style abura soba. I am not a huge ramen fan so I was wanting to explore something new. This abura soba blew my expectations out of the water and it was freakishly delicious. The noodles absorbed a ton of flavor from the sauce that was in the bottom of the bowl and the quality of the noodles was perfect. After I finished the bowl of abura soba, they gave me a small bowl of rice which helped finish off the rest of the leftover sauce. This was a great gesture to end the meal. The gyoza were great as well and the service was very attentive. Definitely a spot worth trying out if you are in the area.

One of the better ramens in Charlotte. Hot Chicken sandwich was top tier. Gyoza was valid. Highly recommend.

Menya Daruma is a ramen bar that has popped up recently in Charlotte. This small bar style establishment is well light with hard wooden bench like seating. All food and drinks are paid for by scanning a QR code they provide you upon being seated. The wait on a busy Saturday was no longer than 10 minutes. It seems most folks come in, sit, order, eat, and leave. The food came out relatively fast. There are vegan options as well as an assortment of meat dishes as well. However, the cost and flavor is what's driving this review. Perhaps I didn't use the sauces as instructed on one of the cards stated on the table but the food lacked major flavor for me. Also, the cost it was priced around the same as most of the ramen places popping up around Charlotte. Menya Daruma is worth trying if you've never had it. Sadly, it wasn't for me.

A different experience where you order and pay with your phone. Limited contact with servers and others. Food is good and adequately priced. Love the vibe and the table set up. Good for a quick bite and quite convenient.

I've never loved the ramen scene in Charlotte, but I heard so many good things about this spot, that I had to try it.

- OG Style Soba with Pork Shoulder
- Spicy Tonkotsu Red

The ramen was good, but the star of the show for me was definitely the soba. It's one of the best dishes I've had this year. I'd highly recommend it.

The payment situation was a bit weird. You order on your phone. Everyone is supposed to be able to order and pay for their own, but it didn't seem to work like that. When our friend paid, it added our stuff to his. We ended up getting it sorted out, but that part wasn't the best.
