Hunam Chinese Restaurant

So thrilled to have found a Chinese restaurant that serves great Cantonese food and only two miles from UNC. Service was great. Ask for the Chinese menu.

Tried a few dishes on the menu and it's a mixed feeling. Some are really good and to my taste while some are not. Generally speaking, I felt their fried dishes are too oily and I'm guessing it could be something to do with the flour they use. Tried fried oyster there, super oily!! But their fried pork fillet is my personal favorite. Staff were nice and very friendly there!

Great neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Exceptionally friendly and accommodating service. In addition to all the standards, there is a chef's menu near the back of the menu with interesting dishes worth trying. Takeout available and frequently used. An aquarium entertains kids waiting for their meals. Kids menu available. Ours ask to go back.

I ordered 1/2 roast duck and egg drop soup for pick up offline. I arrived 15 minutes early and was told I had a wait. The person at the counter was very polite and I was okay with waiting because I gave a certain time. Within two minutes my food was given to me. The waitress greeted by name and wished me a good night. Now for the food. The egg drop soup was a slight salty for taste but it was okay. The duck and rice was excellent. Not as crispy as I hoped but I did have takeout and a 16 minute drive home. The flavor was amazing and I made sure to get all the meat off of the bones. I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend checking this place out. So far the best Chinese I have had since moving from upstate NY.
