Old East Tavern

THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!! THE WAITSTAFF= GENUINE AWESOME PEOPLE! AMBIANCE ON POINT! Gnocchi was absolutely amazing! Hanger steak, better than any steakhouse I’ve been to to date. Do yourself a favor and get those hot honey carrots. Kale Caesar, finally a true anchovy Caesar dressing! Couldn’t decided on one dessert, so we ordered three!!!
Brett and Rosie truly a dynamic duo in bar. Doing all the things! No Yoga today was just what I needed, along with the small batch gin and tonic and for good measure clean crisp COLD martini!
They have a beautiful area where you can purchase beer and wine to go, so many cool selections!
We will be regulars for sure!

From start to finish, a fantastic restaurant and bar. As my first time here I sampled an array of items from the menu. They were all top notch. Chapel Hill has needed a restaurant of this caliber. The cocktails, I had a gin and tonic and a no time for yoga, were the kind of craft cocktail I am used to enjoying in Manhattan or other major cities.

The hanger steak was great quality and cooked to perfect. I had my doubts being a hanger steak but this was cooked like the best of steakhouses. I also enjoyed, and enjoyed is an understatement, the fungi gnocchi. My family is from Italy and I grew up with homemade gnocchi. I would tell my mom these are better than hers if I didn’t mean it.

At the end of the day... do yourself a favor and try Old East Tavern.

Just picked up a meal from Old East Tavern and it was the best meal I have had in months. The chef, Josh, worked with my allergies and they have an extensive gluten free menu. Hard to believe that the asparagus frites were gluten free. The interior is beautiful and we will be dining in soon! Congratulations and well done Julie and Lou. ❤

Great atmosphere, great beers on tap, and the best service!! I absolutely loved Bottle Rev and I love this new space even more!! One thing is: the food was a little too greasy for me!

Fabulous environment, great food, prompt service, and wide selection of local beers. Nice layout with a variety of different rooms and settings, for different types of gatherings (watch a game, private dining, patio, etc). Awesome addition to the Chapel Hill food/bar scene, and highest possible recommendation.
