“Decent food and great staff for the most part. The employees there truly seem to be an awesome dysfunctional family... HA HA. There are drink specials most evenings and activity nights such as music bingo, and trivia. There are also 30, estimate, TVs in the restaurant including the outdoor seating. I enjoy this place for the calm nature on regular nights, and a spirited atmosphere during game days.”

“One of the best poke places in NC. Everything was fresh made to order. Service was quick and super friendly and of course the food was delicious! Will definitely return.”

“Great service and good food! I was in for a meal before a show across the street and had some time to kill. Esther took good care of me! Seemed like she turned up right when I was ready for the next thing. I started with the beer cheese soup, which was delicious. It came with bread, which was the perfect texture for the soup. I had a chopped salad for dinner with pulled pork added. That had lots of flavors going on. Finished things off with an excellent Scottish porter that had hints of chocolate and caramel and was very smooth. Really good meal here, so stop in if you want good service and a great selection of beers, especially if you like Belgians (wide variety of those, but also a good mix of other styles as well).”

“They delivered us a pizza that was burnt on the bottom. I could barely eat it and had to eat around the burnt crust. It just had a burnt taste to it. When I called to I form them, they offered to re-make the pizza or send a coupon. I ordered it to enjoy with some friends and I did not want to wait another 45 minutes for a new pizza so I took the coupon. That act bumped them up to 3 stars otherwise it would have been 1. Where was the quality control?”

“Amazing staff!! Very friendly and personable. Great food, great atmosphere, and a vast selection of beers that changes every time we visit. Highly recommend and can't wait to get back in the summer when the doors are open! Reminds me of a favorite spot in Oregon, glad to have found something right on par in NC. Trivia night is also a blast!! Plenty of board games around as well.”

“Outstanding scene for tasty Malaysian food. Great place to meet and catch up with friends. Looking forward to going back again. It has a good interior. Reminds me of a cafe in Chicago I loved to visit.”

“Had a wonderful time on Monday night. Our waitress Cath was sweet to our kids and very knowledgeable about the beer selection and ingredients in the food. I wish we had known about this spot sooner!”

“Great local burger joint with very few tables. Not the most innovative options for toppings or combinations but the burger meat is local and well prepared. The fries are nothing special. Frozen crinkle cut with lots of seasonings. Personally I like the fries better at 5 guys but prefer the burgers at Al's. I wish they could up the game on the fries. That would make this place a 5 vs 4.”

“Food was authentic and fresh, the service was amazing. The owners gave plenty of recommendations. I had the fish it was light and crispy. My friend that I brought with me lived in Japan for a few years and loved the soup. Parking can be tight during peak times.”

“Really great experience with the tasting menu last night!! Enjoyed every plate and the pairings were spot on. We cannot wait to return, the only flaw is not knowing which plates to choose from next time. I want to order the whole menu!”

“The honey chicken sweet potato biscuit was delicious. The manager could use some training in hospitality but she doesn't stop me from rating 5 stars. Can't wait to visit again. Maple bacon donut was amazing. Wish it was warm though”

“Love the atmosphere and food. My friends and I joked that the only way to improve is to somehow make the “train” move. Service was great - wonderful place to catch up with friends over some food!”

“I typically come once a week and sit up at the bar. Thad is the server that I usually have and he is a wonderful person to talk to. He is knowledgeable about the Chapel Hill / Carrboro area. I hope he is promoted soon because he has top notch service everyday.”

“Great bartender and service. Really nice vibe. Low lighting, several cozy spots to spread out with a group. I have to say the music seemed hilariously out of place, bounced around in off par alternative rock stratosphere. Not to disparage the place at all. It was just odd enough to be noticeable. Went on a Wednesday where the half priced bottles of wine deal lives. Our server was diligent with keeping the table supplied with water, which was much appreciated. Will definitely be back because I hear the food is also excellent!”

“It was such an amazing first experience!!! The staff was super friendly! I wish I remembered our waitress's name! She was so sweet and hilarious!! She has short curly dark-ish red hair and she was just so awesome!! Thank you so much for making this experience so enjoyable! My husband had the Roasted Chicken and I had the Chicken Pad Thai. We both barely spoke because the food was just that great!! Definitely recommend this place!!”

“Great selection of vegetarian dishes. Something for everyone on the menu. A little difficult to find via Google map, it's inside a large building setup like a mall. Great experience for my family of 5.”

“Love this place; it is very homey and the food is delicious. This is the second time that I've been here in a few weeks. It looks like they put a lot of time and grace into development of their dishes. The staff are really respectful and helpful when making suggestions. The Tuesday entree special is unbeatable as well. Looking forward to coming back in the future”

“Very good pizza. I love the New York style crust on some of the choices. My favorite lunch combo is a slice of the Florentine and a slice of the cheese. The stromboli is a real treat. Ask for it "old style"! I eat here 3 or 4 times a month.”

“The Spotted Dog is a unique and funky little restaurant in Carrboro that will satisfy all - vegetarian, vegan, keto, you name it! The menu provides choices for these and more. Of course, I had to try the Impossible Burger. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, but I don't really care for beef, and I was VERY pleasantly surprised with the taste, texture, and look of the Impossible. I got to choose a whole wheat bun, vegan mayonnaise, and vegan Swiss cheese along with the normal lettuce, tomato, and onion. Wow! What a treat! I felt I was indulging in a fatty, juicy, dripping, real cow burger! All burgers come with one side, and the made-on-site hummus I chose was smooth, tasty, and not too garlicky. Other options include (but aren't limited to) fries, corn/bean salsa, and pita. You won't be disappointed with a visit to the Spotted Dog. Service was incredibly fast, but the few minutes you might have to wait can be spent looking at the art gallery on the walls. All prints are for sale.”

“This has been a staple of Chapel Hill for a long time. It has changed owner ship. Still good. One of the better places for Chinese food. Ivory shrimp is good. Curry chicken also interesting.”

“Update May 2019: By now I've been to Tandem half a dozen times for business meetings and special occasions. It never disappoints. Brunch, lunch, and dinner are equally good. On our most recent visit, my party had the deviled eggs, carrot soup, salmon, and seared tuna. All were prepared perfectly and had creative, delicious flavor combinations. I originally rated this place 4 stars back in 2017; now I consider it one of my favorite restaurants in the Triangle and have upped my rating to 5 stars. Original post 2017: Great atmosphere: cozy, comfortable, trendy without being snooty. The food is creative and tasty and is presented beautifully. Portions are almost too generous. This place is not cheap: less expensive than Lantern but more than, say, Acme or The Venable. But still worth it for special occasions or for business dinners.”

“The location and atmosphere is what brings you back. Good food selection, though it is basic pub fare. Excellent selection of beers on tap and a full bar as well. Recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich.”

“What an absolutely delicious place this was. I had one of the best breakfast sandwiches of my life here. The biscuit was absolutely perfect, crunchy on the outside and flaky and buttery inside. The egg and bacon too were fantastic, I believe they were local. I wish I had more time in the area just so I could try some of their other stuff too (I was eyeing the biscuit with pimento)! Turned a good morning into a great one after coming here.”

“First, their Twitter account is on point. But this Wendy's specifically has consistently had really nice folks working at the drive through - which is what u mainly use. There will folks though fast, and I haven't had an order messed up.”
