Paolo's on 54

My wife and I eat out often. This part of the world is replete with an enormous array of restaurants, representing ever corner of the world. For us, Italian food reigns supreme. For us, Paola's on 54 reigns supreme among Italian restaurants. It doesn't hurt that the owner, the star of the show, is Italian born and bred. It's not just the food that keeps drawing us back ... it's the atmosphere, and the service, and the portions. And, it's Paolo. This is a calm and quiet and romantic place. This is the first review of a restaurant I have ever written. Paolo's deserves the stars.

A local favorite. Family owned homemade delicious entrees. Never disappointed and go back again and again. Best Italian food around. Personal favorite is the chicken piccata.

I was expecting to wait 25 mins for a table since it was prom weekend and the tables were reserved but luckily a table opened up right away and we were seated. The place got packed quick. It took some time for our food to arrive but that is understandable. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and the bartender was polite and friendly. He seemed quite popular since other tables were calling him by his name and were all cheerful. The bartender, Victor, stopped by our table to ask us how our drink was and left us with a smile. Our meal was satisfying and the overall experience was pleasant.

The food here is excellent! Since the renovation and addition of liquor, the food prices have increased somewhat. However, I would still strongly recommend. This is a family owned restaurant and a one of a kind gem in Wake County!

Authentic Italian food. Owner is from Naples and uses family recipes along with his own creations. Been here often and have never been disappointed.
