Service was great but the food could've been better for the price. I had their chicken and waffles and I felt like their chicken could have been cooked a little bit better, the waffle was fantastic though and so was the orange juice. The place is kind of loud and a bit cramped but they did their best with the demand they have. Overall I would definitely go back and try some different menu options
Three years ago I ate fried chicken on waffles here. I have waited three years for this moment to come again. Enormous portions of perfectly crispy and moist chicken, great sides (some healthily rendered southern classics as options), reasonable price. I love this restaurant, and if I find myself in Raleigh again I know the first place I'm stopping.
Got the classic chicken sandwich and it was AMAZING. A previous time I had gotten the chicken and waffles which are still really good but the sandwich and the sauce on it blew me away. It just tasted so good and the crispy was of the chicken was perfect. Also for the mac and cheese which was a great side to top it off. Huge fan of the style and the crust on top.
It was good. Had the 1/4 chicken with sweet potato wedges. Nice light sweetness with the added honey. I would go back again.
I was disappointed with the dessert though. Had the cinnamon bread pudding. It was quite dry with not much flavor. Maybe should have ordered something simple.
Beasley's is a MUST if you are in downtown Raleigh! Great southern home cooking with an upscale twist! If you visit you must try the chicken and waffles! If you enjoy spicy, get a side of the Carolina Reaper Sauce (hot oil) to drizzle on your chicken or anything really! I had to get some to take home with me it was so good! We tried the meatloaf which was perfectly moist and set on fluffy mashed potatoes with an excellent gravy to top it off. Also tried the pimento Mac and Cheese which was heavenly!! For dessert we tried the Honey Biscuit Bread pudding. It came out with a fresh scoop of ice cream on top and is like no bread pudding you have ever tried! Delicious! I highly recommend stopping at Beasley's! It can be a little busy but worth the wait. It is family friendly and easy to share everything family style.
