“The two ladies at the front desk (for the life of me I cannot recall their names) were so kind during our stay. From booking, to checking in or out, they were very helpful and informative. They made sure our stay was pleasant and catered to our needs. I believe we had the Lakehouse suite which was just above the reception desk on the second floor. Beautiful room, cozy, quaint, and a very nice view of Lake Erie. I cannot commend them enough for their hospitality and customer service. It was a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely be returning.”

“This is a really special place. On January 14th, 2023 my family was about to hold my mother’s funeral at Baumgardner’s. Everyone was not from Andover. There were about 50 of us. Natalie made room for all of us to gather there that morning for breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal! I can’t thank them enough for the hospitality they showed me and my family members. It was a bright spot during one of the worst times of my life! What a blessing! “DAMN GREAT TACOS…!!! I just had Barri’s Tacos Locos for the first time. Outstanding! The tortilla chips are fresh made in house. They have a nice saltiness, crunch, and a complexity of flavor as you chew into them. Served up with the fresh made pico de gallo, it’s a sure winner. Fresh tomatoes, fresh cilantro, everything done from scratch, fantastic! 😀👍🏻 I went for the tacos and had one with each meat: steak, chicken, Al Pastore, and chorizo. Served on fresh, in-house made tortillas, along with fresh ingredients, expertly seasoned meat, these were a grand slam! Absolutely delicious! They also serve tasty hot and mild sauces which they make in house. Fresh! Fresh! Fresh! It’s a great combination of restaurant quality, and home cooking TLC. That was a dynamite lunch, next I want to try their Cuban sandwich! This is a wonderful addition to Ashtabula, and I am hungry for more Barri’s Tacos Locos!”

“First, the food. Some of the best BBQ I've had. I was in the area for a week visiting relatives, and gave this place a try. Then had to come here a second time before leaving - it was that good. Second, the people. Being not-from-around-here in a small town, you worry you're gonna get a cold reception. I got the exact opposite. Friendly, welcoming, and made me want to come back. Even gave me some of the dry rub to try for extra seasoning. Lastly, try some of their Alabama sauce, and use it on your potatoes or fries if you get them. You won't be disappointed.”

“Took our boat and our dog from Fairport Harbor to GOTL and walked around town on 9/15/20 and couldn’t believe how many places were closed! One of the first places we chose to go into was Ruff Life on the Lake. Incredibly friendly service and great food menu, also were open until 8 pm on a Tuesday which was nice to see considering everything was closed!! Cute little dog/cat boutique plus café and is always nice to have more places to take a dog inside 🐾”
