Steak 'n Shake

We stopped here after a 4h dog expo at the Clark Co. Fairgrounds and had exceptional service. They were patient waiting g on us to decide in drive thru and when we got to the window apologized because they were in the middle of shift change and it would take a bit. It wasn't long at all and they were great!

Wife and I went to steak and shake in Springfield had the four items for under 4 bucks deal double cheeseburgers french fries and coleslaw with cookie was the four items and wife had a chocolate milkshake and I had a peanut butter milkshake never got my coleslaw they brought her hers and neither one of us got our cookie. Steak burgers and fries was very good. But the milkshakes was very nasty I asked the cashier what was the milkshakes made out of they said it wasn't made of ice cream it came in a bag mixed up with milk and a bunch of other stuff so I take it they're making milkshakes out of some kind of ice milk and not ice cream. Waitress worked very hard but she was lack of training. Restaurant was fairly clean for 10 minutes after 5 on a Saturday afternoon. But after all The nasty ice milkshake and me not get my coleslaw and cookies that I paid for a full meal I have to give this a little 3 stars.

We had a little wait on our milkshakes and one of our meals was left off of our order but they were so busy!! They gave us the left off meal for free for having a long wait & for them leaving it off of our order. I thought that was very nice! Very friendly people. Great food.

It was okay. I gave it four stars just because the food is good, but the shakes take forever to get out to you you almost need to order your shake ahead of time before you even get to the restaurant because your food will come before the shake will. That being said the shakes are phenomenal and they do a great job with them. Service was moderate wasn't the quickest and wasn't the slowest but they do get busy and at times appear short staffed so I can completely understand a little bit of slowness with service. Waitresses are always friendly. Not to mention they have good prices a lot of things under $4.
