The Eagle Short North

Excellent food, but if you're going here to have a private dinner, this isn't your place. You either share a table with a stranger or sit at the bar. If you like to be sociable or you are going with a large group of people this would be a great location. Service is good but its not great.

Though not a Southern person, I was intrigued by their southern comfort food. Had their fried chicken, and it had a nice little kick to it, and was nice and moist. The grits and collards sides that I had were delicious, and there was no lumps in the grits.

Chicken so good it will make you mad at other chicken for not being from here. The gold standard for Mac and Cheese. Served for two (except that I will stand your hand with a fork if you try to take any). Great local craft beer selection and good atmosphere. Tell people your taking them to the best Fried Chicken ever, and watch them agree.

Very nice restaurant people were very friendly. We had a party of 10. Food was very good week each ordered chicken and a few sides like mashed potatoes, soon cake with honey and blackberry jam, Mac and cheese and French fries. Had a very good time it's our second time for us behind there. Will they definitely go back.

The Eagle is a nice twist on Southern hospitality here in the North. I recommend sharing sides as they are all so good you will want to order everything. The biscuits and jam are amazing! The fries, smashed potatoes, green beans....I could go on and on...The chicken is so moist and has been perfectly prepared every time I have eaten there. Everyone I've ever been there with has had a great meal no matter what was ordered.
