“Delicious. I was heading home after eating amazing food at a work conference and I needed one more meal and this place came highly recommended. It is no joke!!! I had a VEGGIE EGGLE BAGEL served hot with the tomato herb bagel. Wow. Just wow. The staff was super friendly even though they were about to close, the place was very clean, customers were happy-looking, and the place is huge with an area to sit and read or work. Go check it out and bring home some bagels. 🥯”

“Many of the sandwich options looked really good and I’m not here to only compliment the flavor of delicious sandwich I chose (the chicken one), but also to compliment the waiter who answered my questions about the sandwiches and their popularity. They kindly gave me information until I made my choice. We were regularly checked on during our meal in a non invasive or interrupting way. Our table felt private, the environment was calm and nice, clean and chill. I will go back next time I am in the area. Refills were prompt and we felt paid attention to. They altered the menu item to suit my girlfriend’s diet. The food was good, but the service made the experience.”

Sweet Basil's Cafe

“Unfortunately we had eaten a late lunch so we didn’t have room for a big dinner. There was a bit of a wait for a table but the live music by Maggie and the Cats was terrific and we didn’t mind waiting. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer. They are served on beets and sprinkled with feta and a drizzle of balsamic. They were delicious. Then we had the crab cakes which were flavorful and good sized. They had just the right amount of breading and a flavorful sauce. Even though the place was packed the service was excellent and they didn’t rush you. Over all it was one of the most enjoyable evenings of music and dinner I’ve had in a long time.”

“I had Richard as my driver going from Astoria to PDX going back home to London. He was very kind and had very good time-keeping to make sure I got to the airport on time. I had just ran the Hood to Coast Relay and I had such an amazing experience. Richard had also suggested that he would kindly pick up my bag which I had left at a hotel near the start line for the race.. because we didn’t have space in the van to take it with us to the finishing line where we had another hotel booked. He is an entrepreneur who owns a coffee shop also.. offered I could have a coffee on the house next time I come to Portland. Thanks Richard!”

Update a year later Place is great to go to at night. I just had some great cake and coffee. The town could use a few more places like this. (I don't know about breakfast service is anymore).”

Coffee OR Waffle

Address: 385 11th St, Astoria, OR 97103, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“What's not love about this amazing food cart? Affordable delicious coffee, hot and cold, with alternative milks and flavored syrups. Amazingly well balanced waffle dishes fresh cooked on the spot, my mouth was watering the moment we walked up to order. We shared two waffles, the Maple Bacon and the Waffle Bee. The Maple Bacon waffle was better than I imagined, with real, awesome bacon bits cooked IN the batter. The Waffle Bee is made with local wildflower honey and was a perfect balance of spicy cinnamon, sweet honey, a touch of whipped cream and perfectly cooked waffle. Josh was incredibly personable, politely chatty and funny, and our espresso drinks were seriously on point. What are you waiting for? Go, now! You'll thank yourself for the moments of bliss that follow.”

“Great find! Thought we would stop for some caffeine on drive back to Portland and discovered this great place. Had a great iced mocha. His baked goods are freshly made in store. Had a really good blueberry scone and snicker doddle cookie. Will come back next time for his pizza (makes his own dough). Has chili, soup of the day and more. All in a nicely done historic gas station. Said he has been open for a year and a half but recently extended his hours. Recently open from 8am to 7pm. Very friendly owner - nice place.”
