Jack Sprats Bayfront

I met a friend this morning and we tried Jack Sprats for the first time. We arrived a half hour before it opened so we ended up sitting outside the Embarcadero overlooking the bay. When the restaurant opened, we were greeted by Jason, the manager. He was super friendly, entertaining, and had a wonderful personality first thing in the morning! Our food came out quickly and was delicious. This will definitely be added as a new breakfast spot that we will visit more regularly.

The vegan options here are incredible! We had the tofu curry and the coconut breaded tofu sandwich. The fries are delicious too! So impressed with the food and views. Lovely restaurant and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming here again when in the area!

Clean restaurant, great location. The waitress was extremely friendly. Unfortunately the food was just not good. My daughter ordered a salad with steak. The steak was undercooked we sent it back and it came back undercooked again. They did not even offer to remove a portion of the fee. Like I said the waitress was extremely friendly I know times are hard and it's hard to find staff. Cheesecake was good!

I was visiting the coast with some friends and decided to try Jack Sprats when the first place we selected was closed. It's a little difficult to find if you don't know it's in the hotel. The server we had was new but he was absolutely wonderful and very helpful with the one child with us. I didn't want a real large meal so I got the Sprat rolls. They were absolutely delicious as was the dipping sauce that came with it. Our experience was so good, we decided to go back the next night. They were short handed, as most places are these days, with only 2 servers working. Our server was amazing and she was very pleasant and helpful in spite of all the people they had to handle. After seeing one of my friends get it the day before, I ordered the Mac & Cheese with onion rings. Comfort food on steroids!! It was wonderful. One person in our group had grilled salmon. She felt it was a little overcooked but the taste was great.

I would definitely include Jack Sprats on my next trip to the Newport area!

I wish I could give MORE stars! This is the best gluten free places I’ve ever been for fried foods! They have mozzarella sticks that are so crazy amazing….. gluten free fish and chips that are hand made from scratch. The potatoes are hand cut everyday and so yummy when fried! I can’t wait to have more of their food! Gluten free bacon Mac and cheese! So many options! The owner is very dedicated to the health of those with gluten free needs and will alert the kitchen if you are celiacs! They are clean and classy, and the view is amazing!
