Mother's Bistro & Bar

I highly recommend this place. It was really really delicious and at a super great price. One of the best things about Portland is no sales tax, so that made this meal even more attractive. The price to value here is insane.

I had hoped to write this review sooner then now, but in any case here I go. Mother's has been around a long and is, to say, almost an institution. The new location is very nice and they have done well designing the location. If you are going there for a nice lunch and a conversation with your fellow diner I suggest you go another place. I was there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and had the $15,000 Crab Cakes. I love crab cakes, BUT what I had would not be something I would recommend. Two around, almost balls with a slaw like topping on a hamburger bun. While the tastes were there the easy of eating it was not. Messy, the bun tore apart, and what got me most was the two round crag cakes. Why not one round one that does fit on a bun? Taste OK, but that's about it. Not a place I will come back anytime soon.

Food here was delicious. Fresh squeeze OJ so very good. I had their standard breakfast, their potatoes were the thick country style and were wonderful. The wait was the only issue with this place. If you're planning on going on a weekend morning be prepared to wait. Was about 45mins to get a table, but it's to be expected with a place as good as this. Still, the food and atmosphere was well worth the wait. Very friendly staff, and the food didn't take long to come out, which is really nice even though they were slammed.

Amazing restaurant!! Today was my first time there and I loved it. I was waiting for a while to go there and it exceeded all my expectations. It looked beautiful inside and the food was amazing. I got the breakfast "nachos" ????. And I would definitely go back to get the same thing. It was that good.
Also our server was very nice and patient.

Oh my! We just enjoyed a delicious and sumptuous brunch at Mother's. Even the coffee had a most flavorful taste! Even though we were quite satisfied, we ordered apple crisp desert. It was the nest I've ever had and not too sweet. The new site is also exquisite. ????
