The food was very delicious. Not only could you choose from many different types of sushi but there are also non sushi items and desserts. The train that goes around the table is the best part of the whole experience.
Came here with family on a Saturday night while visiting Portland around 6 and luckily beat the rush. It filled up shortly after we arrived, and for good reason. The sushi is amazingly fresh and delicious, with a great price point. Some of the best salmon sashimi I've ever had. Delicious sushi in a simple system done perfectly. Love this place. I will be back next time we're in Portland.
Our happy place. We've been faithful since 2013, for my partner a decade longer than that (he started at Takahashi). Our kids love it and it helps keep them adventurous eaters. The staff recognize us when we go in and make us feel extra welcome knowing our drinks and preferred apps, although we have felt very welcome since day one.
If you're new to sushi this is a great place to start! The fish is still high quality but low price. The train let's you see what you're getting into and the staff is VERY friendly and willing to answer any questions. The relaxed atmosphere and bar seating (tables available as well) means you can probably find other patrons who would love to offer suggestions as well! I never skip the salmon skin hand roll and shrimp boat!
Can't recommend highly enough.
Pro tip: Wednesday evening and all day Saturday are cheap days, as we call them, with most sushi being $1.25.
I love this place. The aesthetic is perfect, the train carrying the sushi is a gimmick that makes me so happy, and the food itself is delicious and well priced.
The nigiri wasn’t super attached to itself which made it a little difficult to eat, and some of the rolls were way larger than they needed to be, but you quickly learn what to grab and what not to. If you only get white plates you can get a large meal for cheap!
The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable. There was a variety of vegetarian options, and even a couple vegan ones. The vegan roll (avocado on top with tofu inside with sweet chili sauce) was absolutely AMAZING!!!
We are from Eugene, and we'll definitely try and eat there again when visiting!
