My favorite place to go in Gettysburg when i want home cooked comfort food!
One of the fewn places you can get breakfast throughout the day and several breakfast combo meals you'll love. One of my favorites is creamed chipped beef and home fries to die for the Homestyle country cooking with lots of menu option. Prices are very reasonable; cheap compared to other places. You'll enjoy the outgoing upbeat hardworking wait saff who greets, welcomes, and gives prompt courteous service to all their customers, This establishment is always clean and makes you feel as though you are right at home. I have to say this diner is one is the best diners in the Gettysburg area!! You won't disappointed.
Good food, lots of options, nice waitress
We were at Gettysburg College for Family Weekend and the West Side Diner was on the college's list of recommended restaurants for breakfast.
My husband called in advance and the waitress, said it would be a 30-40 minute wait and she put us on a list. It was very crowded when we arrived. We were seated very quickly and were served beverages. However, the food took a very long time to arrive. Beth, our waitress told us that they were understaffed that morning and it may take awhile.
She was extremely friendly and professional and did an outstanding job under the circumstances. I don't understand why the restaurant did not have more kitchen staff and servers on a busy Family Weekend. They missed a golden opportunity.
The food was delicious when it finally arrived. Beth was completely overloaded and was working very hard to make sure all of the customers received their orders and were happy. Beth was truly outstanding in managing a very tough situation. I hope the owners realized what a top notch employee they have.
