Had a baby shower for 37 people. Jim couldn’t have been more helpful when planning the meal and set up. The food was amazing. I had many, many compliments about everything. We had a salad, garlic bread, chicken Romano, the divine pasta and the pasta with spinach and feta (my favorite). Waitstaff was amazing. Highly recommended.❤️
We love this local neighborhood spot in the Strip District section of Pittsburgh. The staff are wonderful and they make delicious homemade pizzas and gelato.
Came to Pittsburgh for my bachelorette trip and stopped in for some lunch with my friends. Will was the one that sat us and he was SO funny and kind. Jessie was our server & she was nice. We got the mix & match pizza and all got gelato. Excellent food & tons of great gelato flavors to pick from! Everyone congratulated me on my upcoming wedding & was so nice. Would definitely come back!
Best gelato in Pittsburgh! We got the Orange Julio and Speculoos flavors. Such great light texture, almost like a soft serve but more creamy. Also fantastic pasta - you can build your own pasta starting with the pasta type then adding sauce and protein if you want. We ordered the Mafalde with Basil Pesto Cream which tasted delicious and was a huge serving size.
The burrata and focaccia appetizer was one of our favorites! Buttery, olive oil-y and a little crunch from the bread with a great accent from the cold, creamy burrata that made for some delicious bites.
We also ordered the polenta with sausages which wasn't our personal favorite. Too many peppers and onions and too little sausage. The polenta was also a semi-hard cake which wasn't a form I was used to. I would go back for the pasta and gelato and try the pizza next time!
It was a little pricier than we expected (around $35/person for appetizer, main, gelato) but was delicious and we will be back.
Papa J’s is my favorite place in Pittsburgh. You must try it!! I stop there every time I am home! Michael and all the staff are EXCELLENT! The food is outstanding, and the wine menu is fantastic. I love getting the wedding soup and carbonara. I wish I could take everyone I know to this awesome establishment. Perfect place for a date night, a time with family, or just to get a meal to treat yourself after a regular day. I wish they had a location in Detroit and I would go regularly. I crave their Gelato all the time. The Veal Meatballs are phenomenal. I’ve also stopped in many times for a slice of pizza when I’m on the go. Cannot wait to come back!!!!! I will be a lifelong supporter and lover of Papa J’s!!!!
