Rod's Fish-N-Rib House and Homecooking

Gave Rod’s a couple of months to shake out the kinks that come along with opening a restaurant before we tried it. When we went the first time, it was good. I had the AYCE fish, and was pleased that it wasn’t too greasy or soggy, as it can be sometimes. The fries were ok, nothing spectacular. Our waitress was nice and attentive.
The second time we came, we weren’t impressed. Our waitress was super sweet; however, she attempted to memorize a simple order, yet 2/3 things came out wrong. She rectified the issue. The soda was flat, got a water instead. I got a Reuben sandwich, which are usually loaded with ingredients, but this is probably my least favorite one I’ve had. There was hardly any sauerkraut on it, and it tasted like a basic deli sandwich (for $12!). Once again, the fries were just fine.
I think it’s expensive for what you get, and the quality of what you get. We haven’t totally ruled it out of places to go out to eat, but it will be a long time until we return.

Very nice place. The food is good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very nice. The waitress was good, but we had to wait a long time to get waited on because she was the ONLY waitress on duty. It wasn’t her fault. That's management's responsibility. It's a shame because their success will be short-lived as people walked out angered. Great place if there's only a few cars outside.

Great food. Menu selection is good overall. Service is exceptional. Everyone was nice and very attentive. Fast service bringing out food. The ambiance and design of the place really brings back the 50’s diner style. With visiting and with coming back. A really nice surprise in central PA !

My husband and I had the all you can eat fish and it was fantastic! You must try their baked beans… outstanding. The atmosphere is very quaint and the staff is very welcoming. We can’t wait to go back! Great prices too- especially for the quality. Great job, keep it up!!!
