“Gave Rod’s a couple of months to shake out the kinks that come along with opening a restaurant before we tried it. When we went the first time, it was good. I had the AYCE fish, and was pleased that it wasn’t too greasy or soggy, as it can be sometimes. The fries were ok, nothing spectacular. Our waitress was nice and attentive. The second time we came, we weren’t impressed. Our waitress was super sweet; however, she attempted to memorize a simple order, yet 2/3 things came out wrong. She rectified the issue. The soda was flat, got a water instead. I got a Reuben sandwich, which are usually loaded with ingredients, but this is probably my least favorite one I’ve had. There was hardly any sauerkraut on it, and it tasted like a basic deli sandwich (for $12!). Once again, the fries were just fine. I think it’s expensive for what you get, and the quality of what you get. We haven’t totally ruled it out of places to go out to eat, but it will be a long time until we return.”

“It's rare as a Jamaican you find food that reminds you of home. Even being from New York I haven't tasted Jamaican cuisine like this. The red stripe beer fried chicken is something to really really phone home about. My husband and I each got a different plate. I was given a choice in oxtails either jerk or Curry. I went with jerk oxtails paired with rice and peas with veg. My husband ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas with veg as well. I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese and 2 sides of festival. While waiting for our food the owner informed us that samples were free. So I opted for the Curry oxtail sample and baby let me tell you right now. Them Curry oxtails were so tender and it wasn't a baby sample either we had a nice juicy big sample. He also surprised us with a sample of the red stripe beer chicken. That instantly had us ordering a large order of it lol.”

“Ate here on Mother's Day. The floors were quite dirty, but it was very crowded. We had a party of 11 & waited about 40 minutes to be seated. The wait staff is great & the food is okay depending on what you get. I've dined here for breakfast many times and all of their breakfast meals are great. One of the best places to go for breakfast. On this particular day I had bourbon chicken & shrimp with baked potato and macaroni salad. The macaroni salad is very good and reminds me of my gram's. The main entree was okay, nothing spectacular. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast. But for lunch/dinner, there are better places.”
