Went with my family who are from southern Africa. The food and service were excellent. I would highly recommend
The service was excellent, and more than enough social distancing. I loved the samosas more. Couldn't help making a to go order. I highly recommend.
I had my daughters’ 16th birthday party here! We had a blast. The food is amazing! I highly recommend this place!
This is a new restaurant, so I am expecting that things will change in the future, but I didn't have the best experience. The service was very slow and many of the items on the menu weren't available. Another thing that was annoying was the music, which was too loud and in many times sounded like it was skipping. Very surprised that no one fixed it. The food was good though. I had the 1/4 Chicken which was excellent.
Braai Hut is a Zimbabwe restaurant with a nice wooden interior , spacious seating , and simple menu. There was Zimbabwe music playing in the back ground so i immediately liked the place. I got the Hutty chicken sandwich wrap with 2 sides , chakalaka beans & coleslaw ( 13 bucks) . The sides arrived in large containers and are very much worth the price considering the size. The chakalaka beans tasted very sweet like brown sugar and the coleslaw was fresh and included cut up green grapes. The containers for the sides were in the kind of container you would get at a deli or a farmer's market , with ready- to- attach lids . I thought that was smart and resourceful for a business. The portions were huge and delicious and it is likely youll have some left over to take home.
I honestly expected more flavor from the Hutty chicken wrap after reading up on
" peri peri " seasoning. It was strips of cooked chicken with raw green peppers, onions, and lettuce in a tortilla wrap. The peri peri sauce came on the side in a little cup and provided all the flavor. The wrap special with 2 sides was a little more than 13 bucks . This is my first and so so far only Zimbabwe - dining experience so i have NO frame of reference for which to gauge any authenticity of flavor. Im glad Bethlehem finally has a place like Braai Hut.
The main popular dish on their menu is the roast chicken. There is a great list of sides and most meal options come with your choice of 1 or 2 sides. There's also home made lemonade , some brewed with ginger . The beverage selection also includes a few Jamaicaan sodas as well.
The owner/ cook was very nice and came out to a table and asked how everything was. ... Im glad to see some variety of ethnic food in Bethlehem and finally have some African cuisine in town . Next time im going for a roasted half chicken , some gizzards , cous cous, and roast corn. Their menu looks like it has some kebabs and burgers as well , all the meat is Halal quality. The place is cool with BYOB . Theres outdoor sidewalk seating as well.
