“The food was just perfect. Coming from someone who is from the South, the owner of this place knows some southern food recipes. The fried pickles and corn bread were to die for. I got the fish and chips just because I wanted some New England food while visiting (the fries were seasoned perfectly and the fish was breaded and delicious), but my family got some southern food such as the brisket and the pork shoulder Mac and cheese. I approve because the food was yummy and they know how to do the big portions like the south. Such a hidden southern food gem in a New England town! Not to forget, the service was amazing. Our waitress checked on us several times and constantly kept our drinks filled! YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BANANA PUDDING! So delicious!”

“Diamond in the rough! My wife and I went here for New Year's Eve but we've been other times as well. We love the atmosphere, the building and the food is spectacular. The food is AMAZING! Did I already say that? The building is old and wonderfully charming. It was owned by The Cornell family, yes that one, and in the 50's was bought by the owner's father. The place has tons of history and Joe (the owner) can tell you all about it. Joe takes pride in purchasing high quality and fresh food. His son Mario is the head chef and consistently turns out food that you'd expect to find in expensive, upscale establishments. I had the braised short rib with asparagus risotto. This was a New Year's Eve special. The short rib wasn't short. It was a huge piece of short rib meat on a bone that slid right out. But the star of the dish was the risotto! I've been to Italian restaurants in Boston and Providence and Mario's risotto was twice as good as the Italian restaurants!”

“Fun homey place. Splendid customer service very accommodating of my three small kids. Had coloring book and crayons available for the kids too. There is plenty of plug in spots for those looking for a study spot. Got fries and a cheese pizza. The fries were spot on and crunchy. The cheese pizza was packed full of flavor and had a softer crust to it. Would stop by again to try the other kinds of pizza they have. Prices reasonable for the area. “The co reviewer read about a new restaurant opening up in the Sons of Italy hall in East Providence and we decided to give it a shot. The building has a large lot so parking should not be a problem. From the outside it looks just like the hall has for years. The bar is on the right and the restaurant is in the dinning room to the left. The place is clean and comfortable and Dawn our server was so nice to us the entire evening. The table bread was served with their delicious homemade butter. We started with the stuffies and their RI based hot sauce. I had the fish and chips with a RI based ketchup and the co reviewer had the scallops. Everything was excellent and very flavorful! The Rhode Island made condiments were such a unique and tasteful touch. This is definitely a place we would come back to.”

We had the garlic shrimp with mushrooms as an appetizer which was delicious, especially if you like garlic (they did not hold back). Table side guacamole and fresh chips! And I ordered the trio platter which came with steak, chicken and 3 bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp. Rice, beans and guacamole. All delicious! The churros were also delicious, served fresh with caramel. I also tried a few of there margaritas and they are just as good, and huge! Not watered down or mostly sour mix, you can actually taste the liquor. The price is great for the size and quality of the drinks. I will definitely be back, so nice to finally have a quality Mexican restaurant in East Providence!”

“Oh my god, the food is so good! I got the chili dogs, bar buddy got the Chicago style dogs, HUGE! Definitely no dieting here! Very nice inside, large bar, comfy seats, wicked friendly bar staffs, you're made to feel immediately like a regular. Ill definitely return. If you go with someone, maybe start off with sharing the chili dog order, then take it from there, unless you have a giant appetite. Parking is not a problem.”
