“Very nice gas station, but BEWARE. Had my debit card information stolen from gas pump. I highly suggest paying inside then pumping. Convenience comes with a high price for honest people. Such a terrible hassle to have to cancel cards and redo all accounts related. Food is good there though and they got the good ice. Also, pretty sure there was a drug deal going down at the corner of the station, so also be aware of your surroundings when or if you stop.”

“Went to Beach Bums shortly after they opened hoping for great things, and boy was I not disappointed. Coming from Burton, they're a little far out of the way, but it was well worth the extra travel to make it. We ordered one platter of ribs, one platter of chicken, and a pulled pork sandwich meal. Everything was absolutely divine, and worth a second trip. My only complaint is that the sides were a little on the small side for the price, but the flavor made up for the size. By far the best barbecue in Beaufort County! I'm looking forward to going back!”

“Stay away from the Guacamole! Highly disappointed. The rest of the food okay- corn was a stand out. Poblano ok - the rice was one of my favorites!”

“This a basically good place. There food is good quality that does not cut corners. There bacon is thick cut, hot cakes are excellent, grits are good. Proportions are good. Glaringly wrong thing is that their back exit door is locked. This violates not only the law but violates common sense, if there is a fire in front there is no exit in back. Come on state inspectors do your job.”

“We always stop here on our way to the beach. It never disappoints! Great food and the beer selection is pretty decent (some good rotating taps). We love to sit outside and there is ring toss for the kids. It's a great spot.”

“By far the most superior in food and service! Food tasted just like back home in New York. The staff is friendly and answers all questions. Perfect mom and pop Italian cuisine. The food is absolutely mouth watering. The pizzeria options forgot about it! I will never stop eating at the beautiful place.”

“Super good food and dessert, very friendly staff and its really cute and cozy building. A must stop at if your in the mode for a superb gumbo. There chicken meal is a full half of chicken that falls off the bone. And the shirmp in the gumbo is cooked perfectly and falls right of the tail. The sweet tea is also amazing. One of my favorite meals on our trip. Hands down the best place on the island.”

“We attended the birthday party of a friend. The food was delicious: Including chicken, fish, rice, potato salad, lettuce and tomato salad and more. The decoration is spectacular with all the posters, photographs and autographs of famous artists and groups. The owner Ms. Nellie is the perfect hostess.”

“This is a cozy local place recommend to us. Excellent service, reasonable prices, great food. We had the admiral's platter. Fried Flounder, shrimp, scallops, oysters, calamari, crab cake and side. It was delicious! We split it and could hardly finish it. Not greasy at all, lightly battered, tender and flaky. They have a full service bar and outdoor seating. Daily specials. Deserts. Live music on the weekends. If you leave hungry it's your fault.”

“I can appreciate a simple old fashioned seat-yourself & serve-yourself restaurant. As long as the food is great and the restaurant/facilities are clean and tidy. This was my experience. The food was fantastic. No matter what, make sure you order fried shrimp. You won't be dissatisfied. BUT it comes at a cost. I have extensive experience with seafood restaurants in Florida and South Carolina (particularly Florida). My only complaint its the price. My lunch consisted of fried shrimp, french fries, hush puppies and a sweet tea and cost approximately 13 dollars. Yes, I know you get what you pay for, and the food is great, BUT you don't have a server, most of the seating is outside on picnic tables by the road and the dining room is extremely small. It's basically like a smaller, congested, less sterile McDonald's experience with seafood instead of hamburgers. Food quality is all they can hang their hat on. Atmosphere is primitive, borderline haggard, but maybe that attracts beach tourists/vacationers. For me though, it will take more than tasty heart clogging fried food to justify the steep menu prices.”

“Has awesome breakfast, everything you'd need for a weekend stay near by if you forgot something. Had some really neat local artist displayed for purchase. The owner is really down to earth and friendly. Actually has friends back were we live in union. Love love love the waffle sausage biscuit. Will be back to visit very soon!”

“I went here hearing that it was amazing and reasonable. I just about fell out of my seat when I saw the dinner prices. I ordered the 16 oz rib eye steak. The seasoning tasted exactly like the Montreal Steak Seasoning that you buy at the grocery store. I had to ask for water twice. The outdoor dining option would have been "ok" if the lighting weren't so terrible. We had a party of 6 adults and were charged a gratuity >$10 for a $60 check, which I had never heard of for such a small party. I also felt like the tip was a bit generous for our poor service. All in all, I was extremely disappointed that I paid $30 for a steak that I could have grilled at home for $7, and probably would have tasted as good or better. I will not be going to this restaurant again.”
