“Went on opening day around 7pm. The place was absolutely slammed, so understandably…it took a while to get our food, but once we did. It was hot and fresh, and exactly what we ordered. Every employee we came across was very professional, and went out of their way to apologize for the long wait. We’ll definitely be back!”

“A new restaurant for Newport opens its doors to a flood of flavor with great homestyle cooking. Besides a mountain of burger and pulled pork/beef sandwiches, Hillbilly BBQ has all you can eat buffet choices. We arrived on Ribs night and my dining companions were delighted with the flavorful, meaty, tenderness of the plentiful ribs. I, not being a rib eater chose the smoked chicken option and was amazed that it too was available as all you can eat even though it was not on the buffet line. As for the buffet itself, the sides are homemade, country good. The mashed potatoes are real, not instant, and the carrots and creamed corn are are like grandma used to make. Collards, green beans and cobblers too. Many other hot options plus a salad bar with all the fixing, and a fruit bar that is fresh and inviting. Last but not least is the staff. Lovely people who are quick with a smile and sweet as can be orienting us as first timers to all the options available. This is a family operation that is deserving of try. We'll be back soon and I bet you will too.”

“Friendly staff and I like it that their bathroom is always open to use and clean in case your out in town and have to use the restroom or traveling. The owner is also very nice and recently opened another store which is a tobacco outlet further up cosby highway. I would recommend people to stop here who are local or travelers coming through. 👍”

Christian themed location has steak, kibobs, and several other options to choose from. Comes in to-go container and it's loaded with flavor. “My wife's burger was excellent, as were the fries and Mac and cheese. I sampled the pulled pork, and the flavor there was on point. Service was excellent, and the prices are reasonable for the huge portions. The regular menu is basic, but Saturday is burger day, and they had a special menu full of specialty burgers. The only thing I can say negatively is that I felt like the Brisket didn't have a ton of flavor on its own. I'm not a fan of BBQ sauce, but in this case it brought most of the flavor to the meat. The Brisket's texture was on point, the meat literally fell apart trying to get it on my fork (which is both perfect and extremely hard to accomplish), but the lack of flavor knocked the rating down. It probably isn't significant enough to deduct a full star, but Google won't let me do a half star. My wife said her burger was even better than Andy's Restaurant used to be, which is extremely high praise. We will definitely be back, and have already recommended it to several people.”
