“Service was friendly and the food was pretty good. They had several steam tables, so a decent selection. They also had a few options that we're atypical for a cheap-ish buffet place, such as crawfish, salmon, and mussels. It was a pleasant surprise. $9 is pretty reasonable for those kinds of options. They were low on a few dishes, but I'd say that's acceptable considering I showed up between normal lunch and dinner hours.”

“My third time eating at merle's this time with a larger group of ladies for lunch. Nicole was our server and she was wonderful. She was prompt, dealt with separate checks was very nice. “Stopped in for lunch bc it was a 5 star and I was not let down!! We ordered the Trout special and the Chicken Cobb salad. We also started with the meatballs. Here is the thing, I’ve rated at a ton of places and some very high end, but that salad was the BEST salad I’ve ever eaten! I mean the ranch dressing had to be home made. The croutons which I normally kick to the side were soft but crunch and so delicious!! The chicken perfectly cooked and just the right amount of extras on the salad. It was truly amazing!! The meatballs were good but nothing special. I think a little overcooked actually but the flavor was good. The Trout special was really good and the veggies that came with it were excellent. We topped it all off with some carrot cake and that was phenomenal!! 2nd only to J Alexander’s steakhouse. It was really great!!”

“My family and I were visiting and looked up a local place to grab some food after a long day on the lake. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful but the food did seem to take awhile to come out, the only consideration is we had 10 people in our group. I got the chicken wings and it was the first time I received wings with the sauce on the side rather than covered but they were still decent. Another small complaint was we ordered a chicken sandwich with the smallest piece of chicken I’ve ever seen on a chicken sandwich, it was more like a chicken nugget but the manager took 50% off the person’s meal which was appreciated. Overall good experience.”

“Tonight we experienced our first meal at Lumiére Sewanee and our pallets were blown away! David and the staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive. The ambiance of the space was warm and inviting with live music playing in the background. The music wasn’t so loud we couldn’t hold a conversation but was loud enough to be our entertainment. Upon entering, everything was placed neatly and orderly. It was obvious they pay attention to the details. David (the owner) made it a point to communicate with every guest that came in and was eager to help serve/host/bartend/whatever needed to be done. All of the staff seemed to get along very well and everyone looked out for the other. My husband and I started out with the Salade Sewanee that includes: Roasted beets, pears, maple-pepper pecans, goat cheese, maple-Tabasco vinaigrette. The flavor profile of this salad is unmatched. I haven’t had a salad quite as tasty!! Then onto the PLATUEAX DE FROMAGES which includes House pepper jelly, assorted pickles, olive blend, candied nuts, salumari, Smoked Gouda cheese, and Extra aged Sharp White Cheddar Cheese. Everything on this platter was scrumptious! We finished everything on the plate! Next we had a garlic roasted potato and white cheddar cheese crepe. My husband and I both ended up with Beef Daube. So so so good. And eating that orange peel with the dish really elevates it to a whole new level. Flavor just explodes in your mouth 🤤 We then ended the night with a ricotta cheesecake crepe with fresh strawberries and raspberries 🫠😋 (if I hadn’t eaten so much food, I would’ve had TWO of these!) AND finally maple cinnamon bread pudding. I’m not typically a bread pudding kind of person, but this dessert was heavenly! Basically we are so full but WOW. So incredible. We will hopefully be coming back soon and often!”

“They have the best food a college could offer here on "Sewanee: University of the South" liberal arts college campus, wish I'd taken pics of my food every day at breakfast, lunch, and dinner here when I went to the summer program; "Camp College"! BUT THEY HAVE LITERALLY EVERYTHJBG YOU COULD WANT! Their ranges of Deli, homestyle, grilled, pizza, salad bar, vegan, desserts, fresh fruits, breakfast, drinks, fruit juices, milk, and many more throughout the day! The building is also huge and gorgeous with 2 floors!”

“Excellent steak tacos with plenty of meat! Menu includes burrito, tortas, tamales, street corn etc. Prices are very reasonable. They operaye out of a pink trailer, which means the location varies. We first found them in Tractor Supply on 41a in Decherd/Winchester. They post location info on their facebook page. I can't wait to try the tamales!”

“Once I learned about Nashville Hot Chicken and Fish was open, I had to try it. I lived in Nashville 50 years of my life. I wanted see how close they came to the hot chicken I would often eat when I lived in Nashville. It only took three bits to determine that this place was the real deal. In one month, I have ate there and I have not been disappointed. If you like the real deal when it comes to hit chicken, you will enjoy their food. In the meanwhilec a customer gave mea look like yeah you're right I couldn't get a order called in either and I showed up. Not saying if food isn't good I don't know yet.
