“Charming, homey interior with exceptional food. Refried black beans should be a thing everywhere. Will be coming here every time we visit the area from now on.”

“This is probably the best food I've had on my vacation. Mexican Tacos are delicious and super filling. The waitress was super sweet and made sure my kids had exactly what they wanted. This is a place I will come to more often when I am in town.”

“I'd like to give a shout out to an new employee named Denise thank you so much for understanding my order. I got off and ordered because I specifically requested my burger to be hot with the cheese melted and not cold. Because that's the way it should be and not made in a hurry all cold. It should be with all orders not just mine and you would have alot of happy customers for the price of the burger and a nice hot meal. So again thank you Denise for telling your coworkers my request well done guys!.”

“My husband asked for no veggies, no onions on his burger. It came with the onions. My chips tasted like they were cooked in oil that was several days old. Service was mediocre at best. I understand that they're closing soon for remodeling. I sure hope they're better when they reopen!”

“We had dinner here tonight at the hotel. The bartender was prompt and friendly. We had chicken fajitas with rice and beans. They were very good. The view of the Gulf is awesome. The reason I gave it four stars was because they used plastic straws and little plastic containers for the rice, beans and salsa. Not very Eco friendly only being a hundred feet or so from the ocean.”

“The food was very tasty worth the price. As far as drinks, no Bud Light but other options ok. We did have to tell our waiter to please fill cup a bit more because they are pricey & they were almost half way filled only. Also, one thing I find weird which I’ve noticed not only at this place on the island but other bar & grills is that for some reason they don’t have change..hmmm”

“We sat at the front but they had more sitting options and spots. I knew I wanted a good view for those sunset pics, right up front. The live music started and delighted us for the two hour ride. Then came the food, shrimp appetizers, chicken and fajita tacos and fish. Oh my. Fruit dessert and all the cold drinks you could have. BYOB if you want. The staff was super friendly and courteous. We loved it and can't wait to do it again.”

The food is Amazing and super delicious and fresh! Keep up the Great work! We will always keep coming back.”

“I tried this out for "taco Tuesday" $2 tacos.. The beef street taco, beef fajita, and the beef crunchy taco were excellent. All loaded with fresh vegetables and avocado. Sarah was bartending and was excellent! Even with the lunch rush, food was out quick. The beer is the most expensive I've ever seen in this area at $7.50 a pint...”

“Seafood surprise! This is a magnificent place! Tortugo’s is so pleasant to look at from the outside, it’s like you can’t wait to get inside. Truly an authentic seafood spot once indoors, the decor, the fish display, and I gotta say, the vintage style sink and mirror in the bathroom impressed me as well. The pics below reflect a fish and shrimp combo, one with crispy fries, and the other with a fresh and crunchy side salad and coleslaw, so delicious! They also serve you appetizer fish soup, so flavorful. They oysters to die for. The staff was so nice, helpful with the selections, and truly hard working. You definite have to stop in and check this place out. Helpful review? If so, click on the helpful tab and let me know how I’m doing. Please share the pics and this place with your friends and family. Stay tuned for the next adventure and review, talk soon.”

“You must check it out if you're in the area! We saw it as we were walking in to Pirate's Landing for dinner and made it a point to go after dinner. So glad we did! The girl that works there was very pleasant to talk to. The owner is also on site. The atmosphere is very chill and they play good tunes as you enjoy their different flavors drinks. We had the Mango Moonshine and it was super smooth and tasty. We'll be coming back for sure to try more flavors. 😋”

“Well, nice hole in the wall restaurant before the bridge. It's in a tough neighborhood due to the fact, many other food establishments are within walking distance. The property is clean and streamlined. Nothing extra just the basics. The chow is straightforward and well prepared. Our waitress was friendly and understood the menu. The breakfast tasted good and the portions are adequate for the price. Try it if you are looking for something different. The TexMex breakfast is spicy indeed!! Plotted. Scouts Out.”

“We stopped in. Was pleasantly surprised. Huge menu. Haven’t eaten here in years. We asked what was popular and was told the All You Can Eat 10.99 fish and shrimp. We asked for this. One of us asked for two more shrimp and was told by same server that was another dish. We left very confused but great fish and shrimp. I’m not giving 5 stars because we were told one thing up front and told no at the end of our meal by same server.”

“This is a small restaurant, not for big crowds. I must say, the staff and food were so good here. I wanted to come back after eating the shrimp Tacos because I made a mistake and was going for the fish tacos. I got half grilled and half fried. All were on corn tortilla which was fine, it made it bearable with holding the taco and it's very loaded! The sauce for it was delicious as well.”

“Ironically, they shut down the on-line ordering and don't answer the phone whenever they feel like it. I questioned the cashier and she said yeah we have been busy. Also, don't order the plain thin crust cheese pizza it tastes like cardboard.”

“This is my parents favorite restaurant, now I understand why! The food speaks for itself. The food is delicious and amazing here!! I tried the Fajita Nachos, the fajitas were flavorful grilled and chopped no fat or chewy pieces and the cheese was the RIGHT kind of cheese, melted perfection! I also recommend their famous beef enchiladas 😋 they were so mouthwatering, I wanted more! They had the right seasoning and right cheese. It looks small from the outside but it was bigger inside then I expected, the staff was on top of everything, they had outstanding customer service! I will definitely recommend and I will be coming back. Thank you!”

“The service was excellent. The waitress was so attentive and sweet to our family. Mind you, we came with two toddlers, so it feels extra nice when someone sees how difficult it can be to have toddlers in restaurants. The food was delicious. I'm still trying out the restaurants here in the city of Harlingen, and I was impressed with how authentic and delicious the food was. We will be back!”

“Fries were limp and soggy. Got the wrong order. They made it right. Got my food in a reasonable amount of time. Burger was delicious. I still prefer Stars over Sonic any day of the week. They just had a bad day.”

“I usually hit Las Vegas when in Harlingen, but today I saw Las Cazuelas and have it a try. The salsa is very good with just the right amount of spice. I really enjoyed the enchiladas, and the beans were excellent. Had the ponchos as well. Overall a great meal and good prices.”

“The chicken is always good but the sizes of the individual chicken pieces seems to have shrunk. Taste is great as usual. Drive through service is great but when you walk in to order, the clerks don't greet you like before or even acknowledge you. You have to interrupt then so they can take your order. The eating area is generally clean.”

“This place is not all that good looking from the inside but the food and service is not bad. Prices beat most places. I got my mother a caldo de res for $9.37. good price for ok food. I got a caldo at Los Asados a few weeks back for about $16 but was great. Lots of meat and veggies. You get what u pay for.”
