Dined here last weekend for Galveston restaurant weeks. The updated website and menu sold me. Unfortunately, upon entering, the interior is quite outdated and off putting. Contrasted my idea of the place compared to their website. If you can get past the decor, the bar has a great happy hour with drinks and food specials. The food was delicious. The raddichio and blue cheese salad is a must get. Don't skip the bread and butter either.

The food was AMAZing! The crab cakes are the tastiest I've tried in my life! Great food and great atmosphere! Just really enjoyed our experience! Will come back!

I went to the Pelican last night for the first time and had a great time. My experience was limited but good. I went for a drinks and appetizers only gathering with a group. The crab cakes very yummy and mostly crab. The once private club has undergone a re-boot. They have a new chef and menu and I will go back to try the full dinner.

The pelican club is a semi private club attached to Gaido's. Jacket is required for men. The service is good and staff are polite. I have been here about a year before and have better memories of the food. This time, considering the price of the food, the meals are poor value. Considering the specialty is meant to be seafood I decided to order the fish. I also got the gumbo. Sadly, the gumbo was a salty soup with a few shrimp. The snapper was something that I would expect from the supermarket freezer aisle. It was breaded and fried. Overall not a great impression.
