Sam’s Fried Chicken & Donuts

The food and staff were great. The chicken was well seasoned. The only mild criticism I have is that my chicken clearly wasn't fresh from the fire. Despite this fact, I still give the restaurant 5 stars which says a lot.

So good. The Bart Simpson donut is amazing. The customer service is perfect. Make sure you go and ask for Wolfie.

This is a small restaurant with very interesting blend of food. Reminiscent of chicken and waffles, but donuts instead of waffles. It was enjoyable and tasty, but impossible to eat with your hands unless you wanted a mess. The chicken was nicely crisp and moist and thr donut had a good texture and flavor. Bacon jam was a nice addition.

The food is amazing! First experience the excellent staff suggested the double donut which floored me. A beautiful stack of perfectly glazed donuts with 2 thick pieces of chicken tenderloin. First I tried using a fork and knife but it felt instinctual to try to fit everything in one flavorful bite. The chicken was seasoned and breaded expertly. It gave you a crunch that would satisfy any chicken connoisseur. The best place I've had in a long time! A taste of Houston that I would double down any day. 10/10

For a greasy fried chicken and some sweet treats, this might be what you looking for.

The selection is quite large. Sam’s offer everything from breakfast: chicken and waffles to sandwiches and fried chicken pieces a la cart.

The fried chicken is relatively greasy, and the breading is on a clumpy side. With that said if you like bit of a crunch bits over crunchy dusted layer, this will be what you want. The grease is the part that I couldn’t get over. But the chicken is well seasoned, perfectly cooked.

For sauces I would say hot sauce here is not that hot. It’s a vinegar based, such as tobacco, but with slight sweetness.

Sandwiches are massive, again the grease is bit more for me. Not that this is greasier than some of the other fried chicken joints, just I like my fried foods not oil the paper much.
