“🎤drop! You are greeted with a smile and a basket of chips accompanied by a tray of salsas. The Tex Mex music gives this charming place a feel of the real Pescaderías at Reynosa. The service was fast and courteous. The food was hot and the Vuelve a la vida cocktail was fresh. We had Indio beer and it was a perfect compliment to our lunch.”

“Delicious bbq! It’s a small place with a few tables. When we got there most of the menu was sold out which is a good thing in our eyes. The staff & owners are friendly & show that they care about how they cook their food. We ordered a 3 meat plate so we could taste a couple of items. The chicken was soft, tasty & fell off the bone! The brisket was tender & melts in your mouth. The sausage wasn’t over cooked and tasted great. The bbq sauce is also made by them & has a tangy taste to it that compliments the meats. We got a side of potato salad & rice. The potato salad was just the right amount of flavor, not overtly done with mustard. The rice was Mexican style & had good flavor to it. We also got to sample the jalapeño corn salad. I’m glad we tried it because it wasn’t what we expected. The sauce over it was creamy & it was not spicy at all. The jalapeño added an extra crunch and the type of cheese used gave it a unique flavor to that corn that really made this side stand out. Overall we hope to come back and try out other items on the menu that were sold out.”

“This place is a bit of a drive for me, but totally worth it. They have VERY good carnitas, but my favorite item is the quesadilla with barbacoa. The food is always fresh and the service is warm and friendly”

“Cost: around $9 something off the $5 daily meal combo menu. Food: Wasn't horrible. Ordered Mexican-bacon wrapped hot dogs and a papa with bistec. The hotdogs needed more flavor but were good. However, I would not recommend the papa since they already smash them for you and give you a scoop with the toppings and not the baked papa itself. I was disappointed since there was fat (bistec) in every bite I took including from my mom's tacos. Nice visit for the trend, but could be better.”

“I absolutely love what the new owner has done with this establishment. This is a photography studio, event planning, flower market, boutique, restaurant. I don’t know how she does it but I love it! A part of me doesn’t want to post this review for fear my favorite secret brunch place will be flooded with patrons, but I can’t deny this place of a good review. The food is great! The menu is simple and to the point. Most everything appears to be freshly made in house. Best part is they are still working on acquiring their liquor license so you can byob and they provide the mixers. I hope this gem can be hidden for as long as possible, but something tells me it’s already growing in popularity.”

“The tacos are average, not bad but also not amazing, I liked the corn tortillas they used I think they are handmade, the meat for the tacos was not much to my liking. The salsas are good, but the frijoles charros are lacking flavor. Overall just an average taco place.”

“We went with a big group to eat lunch here and the poke bowl and a pasta plate was really good. I will say it was a bit pricy for me. We paid around $20 per person without the added gratuity and drinks. The cucumber lemonade was excellent too. It’s a little too expensive for those of us on a budget, but if you’re trying to impress a date, I’d say go here. Service was very good!”

“I had a quick bite to eat at Taqueria 39 on 495 and Taylor road in Mission. It's a small taqueria, ( then again most are) with a modern vibe. Nice artworks, hanging lights, and practical seating. I ordered Trumpo tacos and a diet coke. Once I ordered and sat down a selection of salsas were brought to the table, as well as, a cup of beans. I was told the Habenero and pineapple salsa is only served on the weekend, It was one of the best salsas I've had in some time, It was really good. My tacos arrived along with the baked potato I ordered, my potato was cold, not even warm, but it was replaced by a steaming one. The tacos had tender pork on soft corn tortillas, were well seasoned, and came with grilled onions. The Tacos were pretty good. I wish they were the traditional six tacos normally served in the RGV, but only four on the plate. I really liked the place and I want to bring my wife to eat here, she loves tacos.”

“Stopped by hoping it would be good. They didn't dissapoint, we got breakfast plates, food was ready within 15 min and the flavor was good. Payed $40 for 4 people, it was 3 plates and drinks. So I say its a fair price.”

“Fast and friendly service. I would recommend this location. Weekdays are less packed than on weekends and if you get there before 5pm they have special prices on drinks and slushes (Mon-Fri).”

“Good tacos. The charro beans lacked flavor, but the baked potato was good even though it was small. I got the Bistek taco combo which consisted of 4 corn bistek tacos, baked potato, charro beans & a drink for $13! For the price it's really not worth it, but it does have a drive through and I was in a rush, so better luck next time for me since I don't really know a lot of great taquerias in the mission area.”
