“I got the sushi combo A, and it was quite good. I am pretty picky for Japanese food, and I'll say the sushi rice was not what I'd expected from an authentic Japanese restaurant. The vibe is way more American (with some obvious Japanese elements), so honestly I was skeptical from the get-go, and pleasantly surprised. The service was good, and I like that they swipe the card in front of you, by the table (like in Europe or Brazil). I would not call this place authentic Japanese, but it's a solid option, especially given the lack of alternatives near by. I'd say the closest competition is Blue fish and Sakekawa. This place has a way more chill vibe though.”

“The best pizza in Magnolia. Bruce and Candice are the best and will take good care of you. Prices are fair and you get what you pay for and their pizzas are ten times better than anyone else and the staff is extremely friendly so it is absolutely worth it. One of our pizzas didn't turn out on our last order which is the first time that has ever happened. Candice was very friendly about it and replaced the pizza no questions ask. This is the ONLY place we order our pizza from and I highly recommend them. Try it and see for yourself. Pros: Friendly staff and delivery drivers, hot pizza, I have a medical condition that requires my pizza be made special which is never a problem, honors coupons and they are nice enough to input them over the phone. “We had a good meal. I reccomend the chicken fried steak- their famous meal. I had the small plate and it was more than enough, even with me being ravenously hungry. As seen in the photos, my son had the pulled pork sandwich and devoured it. Only three stars because the fried catfish my husband ordered he said seemed like it may have been frozen, not fresh. He did still enjoy it, but felt as though in our area fresh fish is abundant, so why chose frozen.”

“The salsa is really good to me because it's been very spicy and consistent in flavor/texture the 3 times we have been there since they opened a couple months ago and I love spicy salsa. The tacos are also good and the Charro beans are the best tasting I've had. Three stars is for the service which is slower overall than it should be. We should not have to ask for more salsa/chips and then wonder where the server went or if they forgot about us. Or if they ask if we want more chips/salsa and then we also wonder where they went. Also shouldn't have to be looking for our server for our ticket is when it's time to go.”

“Small town diner where there is good food and lot of locals. We had breakfast there for four straight days and tried several items. The pancakes were good and huge! I got two which was one too many. They can make Mickey Mouse pancakes for the young ones. The eggs and potatoes were well cooked. The railroad sandwich is tasty and filling. The coffee was good and strong. Good oatmeal, with all the fixings. The prices were very fair. The service was outstanding. It was all nonsmoking and maybe the only diner in town where smoking is not allowed. Miss Kitty comes out of her kitchen where she does the cooking and checks to be sure everybody is satisfied with their meal (at the end of breakfast). She is quite the character. We will return.”

“Grill is OK. Fries are done propperly. Fried mushrooms were better. French dip was decent. Bartender was responsive for both the eat in food order and the togo order. As a small bar with few people there, the volume for the jukebox was extreme! They have a pool table in the tiny back room, I can not speak to it's cost or quality. They have a slots machine on the bar and not much else. Kinda a dive. I have been in lots worse, but not in a long while.”

“Friday Karaoke with Laurie from Sound Trendz Entertainment is GREAT! Great friendly atmosphere and DJ Laurie has an extensive song selection to choose from for song choices for you to sing. I look forward to Friday nights and though Magnolia is not close to where I live, I do not mind the drive to Texas Tavern. Karaoke night is a blast but Texas Tavern also has pool tables if that is what you and your friends or family enjoy and the bartenders and waitresses never disappoint. A friendly place indeed!
