“We stopped in after a long drive and were pleasantly surprised. The food is much better quality than what the atmosphere would make you think. The prices are a bit higher than we are used to, but the servings were generous. If the place were cleaned up it would be fantastic! I split a shrimp po'boy (please change the spelling!) And tasted the pork chops and sweet potato fries. They were delish.”

“I’m not a fan of buffets, after weight loss surgery I’m all about quality over quantity. Most buffets serve food straight from the can so I was leery of this place. The best all around meal I’ve had in a while. No complaints at all. My family was satisfied, even my picky kids. Everything seemed to be home cooked with pride- something that has been forgotten in most places. We will be staying in Portland for another 6 months or so and Butter Churn will be a regular dinner stop for us! The owner should be proud, he’s really done a fantastic job with this place!”

We ordered online and did curbside pickup, got home to find one of the burgers was missing bacon. We called them and they said, no problem, come back and we'll make it over. “Shrimp, Shrimp and more Shrimp!! I had the pleasure of visiting the original Railroad Seafood Station during a visit to the Corpus Cristi area earlier this year. I was visiting friends at the new SDI Construction site just down the highway and I was invited to go for lunch with them. They asked me if I liked shrimp and of course, I said yes!!! When we got there I noticed the restaurant had a country-style feel to it, with post and beam decor and wooden tables and chairs. I watched as servers brought out massive platters of shrimp done in many ways. Once we were seated I let the gang order and we decided on a couple of family-sized salads, a large serving of jumbo onion rings and three platters of shrimp. The platters we ordered were Blackened, Coconut and Fried Shrimp. Not one of them disappointed us. Every piece of shrimp on every platter was fresh, plump and juicy. The blackened shrimp had a nice kick to them without having to need 3 gallons of water to be able to eat them. Spiced just right, they had a good and even level of spice which made them very easy to eat. The hand-battered coconut shrimp were very appetizing as well. Cooked to a golden colour and crispy with freshly grated pieces of coconut these shrimp very amazing. I was very surprised when I tried the fried shrimp as they were lightly coated and not greasy in any way, crunchy yes, greasy no, these were very well prepared shrimp. The food was very good, the service was great and we got our food fairly quickly so that lunch didn't take forever. I do recommend this place, and my only regret was that I wasn't able to try some other dishes and beers from the brewery.”
