Newly opened in January, this new Tim Love restaurant is right across from his flagship restaurant Lonesome Dove.
It has all of the same wonderful touches of the main restaurant, but with a Tex-Mex flair.
The menu is very to-the-point with all of the main staples of a good Tex-Mex establishment. But as always with a Tim Love restaurant, you are gonna have some interesting meat options like Goat and Duck. The flavor of all of the food was delicious and very deserving of an "Oh my" face on the first bite.
The drinks were also very good with the highlights being the house margarita and of course the "paloma".

Upon reading some negative reviews, I believe the owner is doing their best to make this place the best it could be. We received fantastic service and food even if it was packed for a Wednesday night. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to get in, but the owner/manager came up to the stand and got us a table. Be warned however that you won't get a table unless you make reservations for Fri-Sat-Sun.
We ordered shrimp fajitas for 2 and we loved it. The tortillas were soft, the shrimp was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Chips (thicker/crunchy which we like) and salsa were bangers. 38$ for 4 reasonably filled tacos, up to you if you think it's worth it, but we were visiting and wanted an upscale experience.
The server was very forthcoming, expedient, and nice. I'd recommend coming for a nice dinner out as the bill came out to about $70 with a tip for the meal and 2 drinks (not something for every weekend for most folks). Can't beat the ambiance of the Stockyards here.
I'd recommend eating here as the owner has clearly wanted to turn it around and make a 5 star dining experience for a 4 star price.
Had an excellent experience dinning yesterday Sunday night. Was greeted right away at the door. Got seated immediately by what I think was a manager and he asked if we had been there before, very cool and then asked if we had any questions. Then Alejandro was an amazing server. When we went to make our cocktail decisions he finished our sentences and said we made excellent choices. He recommended the guacamole, which was amazing. Best I have had ever. Then we both asked him that we had two options for dinner and he immediately picked out what the top most delicious meals were. And he was right both were delicious and can’t wait to come back and try some more new things. This server really made the experience. He was such a hard worker as well. He had two big parties as well as four additional 4 tops. He checked back and recommended several items. I am looking forward to our next visit.
