First Watch - Northcross

First Watch recently bought Egg and I, and this location used to be an Egg and I. I like a few things better about Egg and I: Mostly the build your own omelet and the way they do coffee. Other than that, I prefer First Watch. The whole grain bread is actually what it says. The preserves are nice. The food is fresh and well prepared. I hope that now that First Watch owns Egg and I they pick up a few of their better ideas, but also keep the farm fresh everything, and the buy local ethos. I also wish these places did dinner because who doesn’t like. Breakfast for dinner?

I love First Watch. Usually great food and service. Makes for a great place to work/study. Overall experience good however, tomato basil soup was overly thick, lukewarm, and more brown than red. Seemed more like pizza sauce than soup. Won’t be ordering it again from this location.

I really enjoy it here. There's a good variety of food and I can't remember having anything I haven't liked. It can get pretty crowded for brunch, which is when we usually go. And my kids go absolutely nuts but that's my headache, not the restaurant. They like it, too and the staff is very accommodating of the ruckus they cause.

The name was initially off putting but I am happy that I decided to have breakfast here. The waiting area is a bit tight but they have coffee while you wait. What I discovered is that they have an app that can put you on the waiting list which would have cut back our 30 minute wait time. I had the a.m. Super bowl. It was fresh, tasty and just the right amount of food. The decor is minimal but the clean and welcoming.

First watch was really good. The place was clean and had a very comforting vibe. We had asked for a table away from the door and the host accommodated by allowing us to sit in the very back. Our waitress understood the menu well which made our first time visit that much better. Will definitely be going again.
