Very positive first visit. The space has been nicely remodeled but there are a lot of hard surfaces and if restaurant were full I'd expect it to be very loud. Food was well prepared. We had fried oysters (4) and Mexican corn followed by the duck and chicken enchiladas. The Spanish rice was good but not entirely sure if it "went" with the dishes. The black beans were bland. We ordered chocolate hazelnut truffles for dessert (warning: do not try to break them with utensil because they are likely to fly off plate into your lap); raspberry sauce was sweet foil. Margarita was strong. Service was good.
Who are you getting your meat from? Why are your pork dishes so pricy? Especially a plate with a pile of dry pulled pork! The drinks and service were good but the food was not worth it. We will give it another try but plenty of places with way better food for a way better price.
5 stars.
I definitely see cielos vision and think they are going to do very well. Food was phenomenal. Drinks were on point. Owners on sight are extremely informal and friendly. (All staff were)
Worth every penny.
Can't wait to go back.
We went on opening night and were very impressed. We ordered two appetizers, guacamole and street corn, and the really nice bar staff let us sample two of the signature drinks. All were really delicious! I am looking forward to going back for dinner and enjoying the outdoor patio when it opens. Great atmosphere and everyone was really helpful.
Giving 5 stars because it was opening weekend and I'm certain behind the scenes there was lots of folks still learning the ropes. We popped by, as a group of 4, on Saturday night. Just for drinks. The staff was exceptionally attentive and the drinks were absolutely great. I had the "Fallen Angel" and my friends the margarita. Both drinks were particularly good and came quickly.
A couple of things I think would really help. 1) it's pretty bright in there, it's not the atmosphere you'd expect in a reasonably priced restaurant, doesn't hit the ambience I suspect they're going for. Dim it down 50%. 2) It really needs some sound reduction. Concrete floors, hard tables, bare walls. It was a bit like being under Congress bridge as the bats fly out.
Again, we loved the drinks and the service and will definitely be back. Would be even better with some small changes.
Cheers!
