Great service delivered in an old Victorian home. Food was very good, prices were on track. The Wanderer cocktail was the best I've had in a long time. Had snapper tostada and lamb entre. They've opened up a large amount of outdoor seating if that's your thing. Parking was easy, they have their own parking lot. Will be going back.
I wanted to love Rosewood, the space is so beautiful and the ambience so lovely, but the rest was a bit of a disappointment. We had a private room for a birthday dinner and the service was only so-so. When I inquired about a specific cocktail I had seen online I was told that it was from the “old menu” instead of offering to make it or providing a similar alternative (I mean, they have a full bar...) Ok, I thought, surely the food will live up to the hype. I was super excited to try the lamb dish! I love lamb and it’s not something I find easily in US restaurants. What a disappointment! The meat was dry and overdone. My friend also ordered lamb and had the same complaint. We didn’t have a server stop by until almost the end of the meal so we tried to get through it. Another guest mentioned to our server that the lamb had not been satisfactory to which she replied “Well, I wish y’all had said something earlier. We want our guests to love their food.” And that was that. No manager came out. No effort was made to offer us another dish, or even a discount off the menu. And I’m not being cheap but if I’m paying $28 for a dish, (and almost $1,000 total bill) it should be worth it. My husband loved his chicken, the steak was very good, and the banana dessert was amazing. That being said, don’t think we’ll be back.
If you haven't already visited Rosewood simply to sit on their patio, enjoy a cocktail, and take in the views, do yourself a favor and make a reservation today! My husband and I recently got married on Rosewood's patio in front of the beautiful altar made by local sculpture artist Lauren Tompkins (@lunalou.sculpture) - we are so glad that we were able include this incredible piece of art in our special day, and at such a lovely location. Rosewood's staff is charming and attentive, making us and our guests feel warm and welcome. The property is stunning and the outdoor space provides such an intimate and pleasing atmosphere. I cannot wait to visit Rosewood again with my husband, to have a fabulous meal, and to enjoy a fine Austin night at a stunning restaurant. Thanks for all the amazing hard work from the staff, management, and Lauren for an awe-inspiring work of art. Cheers!
Great looking restaurant....ADA wheelchair ramp, plus a lift which was awesome. For a seafood restaurant I was sad how little seafood was on the menu. Had the pork cheek appetizer and it was very yummy. However, my wagyu was a bit chewy since the fat was not rendered completely. The king of kings drink is amazing and should not be missed. Had the banana pudding for dessert which was too sweet was good. They take great care about space and with covid that made me feel safer. I'll try them again after Covid but not the beef. Staff was very friendly it's the reason I would come back. ?
Fantastic food and great atmosphere!
