Best tacos al pastor. I try tacos all over Austin. These ones are the best Al pastor.
I'm from Mexico and I can guarantee these tacos are the real deal.
This is a must Go taqueria, we love tacos al pastor and campeche, they were delish.
The cook is very friendly and attentive, we were pleased to eat here.
We are visiting Texas and we will be back to order more.
Thank you again
Best al pastor in Austin! The breakfast tacos are legit as well. How do I know this? Over the past 10yrs, I've eaten at 100's of Austin taco spots. Ive been to Mexico 26 times. The pastor here is the perfect combo of salt, fat, sweet, and savory. They cook the pork el trumpo style, garnished with crushed pineapple, on small handmade corn tortillas. That's how it's done in mexico. It's remarkable, that it's taken this long for someone to finally do it here. Thanks y'all for saving me the trip to mexico for my al pastor fix! Pro tip: tacos worth having are served on corn tortillas.
Being from Mexico City, grew up in Los Angeles and now living in Houston for 20+ years, coming to Austin and finding this gem is a WIN. Truly authentic pastor, homemade tortillas, fresh spicy salsas. Not greasy with true attention to the traditional way of making pastor. You owe it to yourself to try this place.
Really friendly people. I didn't love the chorizo egg breakfast taco though. Flour tortillas were a bit too thick. Not great. $4 each is slightly pricy for the size.
Both red and green salsa are spicy and very good. I'm coming back to try the pastor, which looks great.
EDIT: OK. I came here before and did my typical first chorizo and egg on flour and the tortillas weren't very good. When I posted that, the owner said they were store bought, do I should try the home made corn. I don't normally do that for breakfast tacos, but you gotta try it if the owner asks!
The corn tortillas are really good. Thicker than usual, so they didn't break down. Light. Fluffy. Quite good. By the way, the salsa packs a punch. Beware.
That said, there's a reason I don't love corn for breakfast tacos. For me, it's just too dry. But now I know what I'm coming back for...their pastor on corn!
