“Fantastic atomosphere, and the food is just absolutely insane. It was the best sandwich I've had in the last few years for certain. I ordered "the Ruby" which was as amazing as it sounds and was happy to see a vegan option! The bread is top tier and really makes the sandwich. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. My only complaint is I wish they were open more hours or on the weekend for all us weekly 9-5 workers. Can't wait to go here again.”

“I like everything I have had here but especially the frozen sugar shack latte. There's the perfect amount of caffeine, ideal sweetness (a treat but not cloying), and it's not super heavy given that it's made with oat milk. The donuts are solid. Light and yeasty. But, the egg sandwich. When I unwrapped it, I was a little disappointed with how it looked but that little sandwich packs some flavor. The bun is buttery and crisp, the egg fluffy, and there's a tomato jam that I would put on everything.”

“Wow - what a wonderful place! We had puer and green teas and a five-spice almond cookie while waiting for our takeout order, and it was all really perfect and magical. When we got home we dug into the shishito peppers and mushroom jiaozi, and these were superb - beautifully cooked and super flavorful. A huge addition to the Burlington restaurant scene! Thanks.”

“People are super nice and welcoming. 6.00 per person per table, the loads of board game collections seem to be alphabetical. They do have some "Fun" food options, saw the pretzel & some shakes they looked magical, they also have some magical beer to choose from.. overall a cool cozy place to play new and old games.”

“Came in from out of town and couldn't have been happier with this place. Everyone was as friendly as could be. I ordered the Basque breakfast & it was incredibly flavorful. Everyone else at the table loved their food also. Honestly can't say anything negative about the visit.”

“Penny Cluse hardly needs a review but I will confirm they are the most delightful place to have breakfast in Burlington, I have not had lunch there. They are extremely organized and really have it together. We arrived just before 8 on Sunday and there was a line, not too intimidating but a reminder that it is a delicious place to eat. They have multiple juice choices for mimosas and the price is reasonable, $6. I had a French toast special that was out of this world, maple cornbread. I would highly recommend sharing a bucket o spuds and banana bread with your table. Get it even if you're alone and take it home, so good. Staff is pleasant and service is quick. They are ready for the constant crowd. I'd say you should plan on a wait or get up early but either is worth it.”

“Flavorful lunches like a bowl of posole or a toasted cheese with avocado sandwich with creative drinks!”

“I love this space and the delicious food that compliments it all!! The food is so fresh and when served it always looks so pretty. I was introducing a friend to this spot for her first time and unfortunately the food took longer then it had in the past. There was a steady flow of people but by no means busy. I guess everyone is allowed to have an “off” day with timing.... the food and atmosphere were still exceptional! I love ginger and tried the ginger iced tea... it was intense. I felt it could have been watered down a little”

“Everyone raves about August First and I can see why. It's in a beautiful part of town and the inside is stunning. The high ceilings make for an airy dining area. There are tables outside. The menu is impressive. What I did love was the coffee and my wife enjoyed her maple biscuit. However, I ordered eggs and potatoes and it was not good. The eggs were dried out and the potatoes flavorless for having herbs on them. If we were to go again, I'd just order coffee.”

“The vibe here is great once you walk in. The locals love it. Its conveniently right next to the water. Got a strong college place feel to it. Workers are friendly and open to offer suggestions. The food is a mixed bag. To my discerning out of town palate, my spin-art dip was was a little too garlicky. And i love garlic. The chips are pieces of fried crepe were a disappointment. I'm used to it being lighter, these were brick hard. Some were stale. To my teenager, this was great and perfect. Her cheese burger was on point and so was the pesto crepe. Price for 4 including iced tea was $52 with tip.”

“Free parking and Wifi with indoor and outdoor seating with great views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Great sandwiches, hot entrees, salads made to order plus made ahead/to go items. You can order regular hot and cold beverages but also beer and wine to go with your meal. My husband is a maple creemee hunter and pronounced the one he ate as exceptional- smooth and brightly maple. There is also a VT liquor licensed shop with great selection.”

“Tomgirl saved my life. When I couldn't keep a thing down after radiation and chemo, Tomgirl juice kept me going. While training and racing in triathlon for the USA, it was Tomgirl juices that helped me stand on podiums. As a registered dietitian/nutritionist, I can enthusiastically recommend all the products. If Tomgirl Kitchen's incredible products have helped me thrive through my great challenges, imagine what they can do for you!!!. I am forever grateful to Tomgirl Kitchen. Thank you for blessing my life. I love you all! xoxo Karen”

“You won’t find croissants here, but there is a nice selection of mostly American-style loaves (farmer’s white, honey wheat, etc). Bread was tasty, and the staff here are generous with bread samples. Cozy and relaxed space.”

“I’ve been to many Dunkin’ Donuts and this one is by far the best place. Their customer service is great the staff is so nice and they are trained well and actually know how to make great drinks. Every time I’ve been there if they don’t have what I order they always apologize and offer something extra. I’m huge on customer service I will not come back to a place where I don’t feel welcome but I am so pleased with this dunkin!!”
