“A brand new, wonderful, Indian Restaurant. 100% Vegetarian in the heart of Essex, Vermont. Totally family run. Very warm and friendly hosts. We had a Shahi Thali which comprised of two very large pooris, saag paneer, dal makhani, raitha, paneer tikka masala, rice, papad and rasmalai. For starters we had Gobi Manchurian followed by Chole Bhature that was accompanied with pickles and chopped onions in a green chutney. We topped off with wonderful Rose Lassi. The place also sells Indian sweets by weight. They have Kalakand. Angoori Gulab Jamuns, Burfi, Peda, Petha, etc. They also have delicious Namak Para. Their menu comprises of North Indian, South Indian as well as Chaats. A truly must visit place if you stay in and around Essex or Burlington. We really enjoyed the food and ambience. Will definitely keep coming back for more”

Red Panda Essex has quickly become my go to restaurant for daily pickups. Today I waited 15 minutes and watched a potentially new employee completely mess up my food twice and as he was about to leave and hand me the disaster of a sandwich. (Dan) I believe comes in and SAVES the day! He remade my sandwich and made it himself so it came out right! Now I will only get sandwiches from him! Well moral of the story is hire more people like Dan and don’t loose him cause he’s the best you’ve got! And five stars are literally for his thoughtfulness, positivity, and kindness!”

“Tried this place for the first time last night with my girlfriend. We were both really impressed - the food was delicious. I'm not very experienced with Nepali food but my partner is and couldn't decide between two dishes. She ordered both, one for lunch today and then could not get over the flavors in the sauces and sampled from both (and my meal). Two thumbs up and a sweaty brow. Just the right amount of spice!”

“We’ve been wanting to check out Mark BBQ in Essex junction that just recently opened. The brisket was good, but maybe not an award winner as advertised (the ones I had were a tad dry, maybe it was just that cut I had) but the dry rub pork ribs were absolutely amazing! Paired with their ‘crack sauce’ (which was so good I bought a bottle) and the bourbon whisky BBQ sauce, these ribs got me to buy a whole other half rack on the spot. The smoked beans were great as well as the Mac n cheese. I also like the clever menu choices on a couple of specials. Good southern/Texas BBQ atmosphere and served with white bread as real BBQ should. We loved the chalk board wall that Scarlett drew all over in between bites. Veteran owned and friendly staff.
