“They did not clean/wipe our table off that was on the screened in porch before we sat. ... even after we were seated. ...Definitely not a very clean joint. Limited menu but there are gluten free items. Food wasn’t terrible for a quick stop. ...”

“Nice location and you can eat inside where it's air conditioned or out on the enclosed patio with the windows open. We chose outside and sat overlooking the channel. There was a constant breeze so it wasn't hot out there. The food was good and the portions were plentiful. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and so was our waitress. Take binoculars, we could just make out something across the water; we thought they were horses but we couldn't see them very well from that distance.”

“Good bbq and the sides are awesome too. I will fight for the last serving of the gingered applesauce. Nice spot to stay and eat too with a few different table setups and outdoor games.”

“Really enjoyed my dining experience here! We made a reservation and after a short wait we were seated. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, a woman who may have been the manager stopped by our table and chatted with us even though it was a busy night for them. The food came quickly and was very good, especially the warm bread and whipped butter. We were seated near a window overlooking the marshlands as the sunset, beautiful. Overall great experience!”

“Fresh and delicious locally sourced food. Eco friendly and very friendly owners. Vegetarian friendly. Tacos are so fresh and flavorful. Some traditional flavors but also some unexpected flavor combinations if you're feeling adventurous. Good drinks. Happy to see they moved to a larger location this season.”

“We had a fabulous meal here. It was my wife’s birthday and we wanted to try a new spot on the island. Appetizers were great. Entrees were in believable. We both had seafood. It was sensational and so very fresh. The grilled seafood was the BEST, but it was all delicious.”

“The food was good. I had fried oysters and my companion fried crab, and we would eat it again. The atmosphere of restaurant is family friendly. Our meals cost about $24 each at dinnertime.”

“We were apprehensive when we saw the prices with no pictures or any idea of what we would actually get when we ordered. The cookies are about 4 inches in diameter and about a half inch thick. They are very dense, chewy, and overly sweet. The single scoop of ice cream was mounded up and the equivalent of several (maybe 4) regular packed scoops. We all ordered the 1 cookie + 1 scoop + 1 topping. I had a salted caramel cookie, salted caramel truffle ice cream, hot fudge topping, and whipped cream with a cherry. It was served in a square plastic take-out box, which was nice - we could've saved any left overs if we'd had them or transported it without making a mess. The line was long and parking was at a premium. The cookie and ice cream both had a nice concentration of salted caramel flavor and bits, but it was absolutely sugar overload! I wish I had ordered a kids size or shared with someone rather than having one to myself.”

“This place made great pizza and wings! The salad we got was 1st rate also! I like how you actually get what you pay for...the prices are reasonably in line compared to some other places around the island.”

“Wow a gem a must do for me as I am a foodie and they kick it out for me. Of the ballpark that is. Don’t miss this on your way to the beach super desserts super good soups. Love it’s all in house made with loads of love thanks. I travel for this food an hour away just to do and get. The red peppers they just do so well blended with goat cheese and roast beef warmed mmm good. You just don’t know how good it is. The cozy setting by the water super. Hats off to the chef and staff done right. The lettuce here I know what your thinking is the best so crisp and fresh. Not sure how you do it but well done. Chicken salad very good those red peppers love them. Wish you had this sandwich above as a daily special enjoy”

“Best crab cakes I’ve ever had! We stopped by around noon, it wasn’t very busy. You are handed a menu and can make your order at the counter. While we waited for our food, we sat outside at a picnic table on the sand, it was very relaxing. The crab bites were perfect! I couldn’t taste any breading or filler ingredients, just crab and seasoning, hot and lightly crisped.”

“These were really good fresh donuts made to order. They are open 7-2 so definitely need to get up and moving. You will need to wait and be patient but it is totally worth it. Very reasonable price for such a high quality product.”

“This is a great little place for subs and anything else that you want made to order. The folks working there always greet you with a smile and seem to go that extra mile to make sure that your order is perfect. Have been there several times since being down this way and would definitely recommend this spot as a "local" favorite.”

“This was our second time my wife and I had eaten here. The first visit we sat at he bar and had mainly their fried items which were great. This time we sat in the restaurant and ordered a steamer platter and broiled platter. We really wanted to love this place but for the price, the food was WAY overcooked. My steamer platter included snow crabs, clams, oysters and shrimp. My wife’s broiled platter included shrimp, fish, scallops, oysters and crab cakes. Her shrimp, scallops and fish were VERY overcooked. They were dry, rubbery and tough. My snow crabs would not pop when cracked and the meat was stuck to the inside of the shells. That is a classic sign that they were overcooked. For a “steamer” seafood restaurant I expected them to have the steaming down to a science. For those that wouldn’t know any different I guess it would be ok. You pay a high price but get a large amount of seafood. I have cooked crab legs before and they turned out better. All in all if you want a lot of food, don’t know how seafood is supposed to be cooked and don’t mind paying a lot for it this is your place. If not go to The Village. Their platter is around the same price and you get more food and it was cooked perfectly.”

“Oh my gosh this place is AMAZING!!! Family owned and operated from his front yard!! The soup is phenomenal! I mean, it's all absolutely amazing! The brisket is a MUST! We had to stop and get a whole bunch of family size to take home with us! Definately recommend and we now know where we'll be eating every time we come!”

“Very cool shop. The owners are very kind and gracious. There are plenty of options in here for good food. You can buy from the deli, or from the tons of cheese, wine, beer, fruits, crackers, and an assortment of other gourmet food products. Their breads are really delicious. We gathered a couple of cheeses, some bread, some brown rice flour crackers, Bloody Mary mix and vodka, olives and bottled water. Great addition to the veggies we picked up at the farmers market around the corner. Stop in here, you won’t be disappointed.”

“My experience with Java House was always great. The donuts are better than anything else you can find on the island. They had a good freshness to them, with a nice variety to choose from. The coffee tasted just fine, it was more hearty than a bland diner coffee. It was also always crowded which is a good sign!”

“Great new place offering something unique. I don't know of any place else on the island that has crepes. This long-haired fella seems to know his coffee too!”
