“While staying in the area for work, I stopped in for a very late lunch (just a sandwich), not knowing this was not only a restaurant (with pizza, pasta, and sandwiches to take out), but also a little “take & bake” and Italian grocery store. After ordering my sandwich, I saw many things that caught my eye, on shelves and in their freezer, so I ended up picking up several more items to take home. My sandwich was AWESOME! I got the Val d’Aosta Sandwich and the focaccia it was on was incredible! The meats, toppings, etc all came together perfectly and it was really tasty! I’d love to go back and try their pizza next time…. They have a beautiful brick oven pizza flaming up in the kitchen, which is viewable from the store. Staff was very helpful and friendly too! Highly recommend!! But if you want to dine in, it’s more of a carry-out with one (maybe two?) table for two inside.”

“Fun ordering experience with a large screen and pictures with lots of add on choices. Easy to pay. Reasonable prices. Interesting food delivery robot. Delicious hot sake in a beautiful carafe. The 2 protein poke bowl I got was well presented with delicious flavor. Really enjoyed the seaweed salad's taste. Wish there was a little less overload on the rice and a little more toppings to even it out.”

“Khadijahs kitchen is awesome! As an Iranian myself her food takes me back to home and tastes just like my family’s cooking. Khadijah is the sweetest lady, and a single mom of 5 working hard to share her culinary skills with the Charlottesville community! Please consider supporting her excellent business”

“It’s inside the Main Street Market (right side). Easy to find parking. Tofu bomb is sweet which is a little bit weird but the tofu itself is tasty. If they can be made salty and spicy will be great. Drunken noodles is good, a little bit dry, which I like but my friend doesn’t. Green curry is super spicy and I love it! The duck portion is small but delicious. I saw their menu has Mexican food too, that’s a interesting combination! Definitely will come back and try more. Their lunch special is available from 11-3pm, and it’s $8.”

“The new location is up and running..no alcohol until mid-May ..very satisfying food. The lemon lime drink went well with the spicy tacos...3 hot sauces offered..the pickled jalapenos were just too hot for me! The pinto beans were delicious .highly recommended.”

“The lobby bar and bartender were wonderful!!! We arrived late needing a bite to eat. She kindly made us a charcuterie board right at closing time. It wasn’t thrown together, it was handsome and delicious. Everything about this place was wonderful!!”

“I just visited their first location in town! They have such a nice crew, the quality of their food is exceptional and the location is beautiful and inviting. You definitely should pay them a visit and grab yourself a Pelua! 👌🏼 don’t forget to ask for all the different salsas they have”

“This 5-star review is for the Latino food joint inside the gas station. The fried plantain is the best I've had for a while! The lady tending the store was super sweet as well. Bookmarked this location for coming back if we pass by Charlotteville again enroute to OBX... 😋”

“Food - 5/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Value - 3/5 A delightful little boutique, Mexican-themed, health-conscious cafe. The grilled onions that come in many of their menu items are insanely good, I don’t know how they caramelize them to such rich and gooey perfection. Their fries are seasoned very nicely as well, they remind me of cajun fries. You can also buy from a selection of boutique health snacks and drinks that are really interesting. Their shop is small so they only have outdoor seating in the Code building courtyard, but it is a nice shady place to sit when the weather is amenable. You may also find indoor seating at the Milli Coffee shop just down the stairs (both handicap accessible). My only complaint really is that they aren’t open on weekends - we got lucky coming by on Memorial Day!”

“New spot but easily the best happy hour in Charlottesville I’ve seen. Daily 4-6pm $3 any beer (including IPAs), half off food which is mostly bar food, and chill beach music vibes. Just got 4 beers and an appetizer for $16 total. Worth checking out 👍🏼”

“Really love MarieBette Cafe (both locations)! Everything I’ve had from there has been great - breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and coffees/teas/hot chocolates. Finally getting around to reviewing them after ordering a cake a couple of weeks ago. It 100% met my wishes! I asked for the lemon cake with pink or white peonies and white lily of the valley flowers (to represent May), and I was amazed when I saw the cake! It was spot on for what I wanted in looks and taste!”

“This is a culinary gem for Cville. Come for the top notch drinks and sides and stay for the perfect rotisserie chicken. Add the Dos Piñas smoky sweet mezcal drink, celery olive salad and collards (shoutout to Eppies) to your wish list.”

“One of the best Thai restaurants in Charlottsville! It was similar to Monsoon Siam but better than Pineapples. The pad thai was good, the pad see ew was great and the calamari was really crunchy and addicting. Service was also phenomenal. You can hear them making the your food in the kitchen right there. Ambience and decore is very nice. It’s a smaller place so I’d avoid peak hours once people fond out how good it is here!”

“It has been interesting to see how this place has grown. It's become a staple of downtown and has a pretty solid following. It's a pretty small tasting room so it is nice that they put the tables outside. The outdoor stage is pretty cool and has a lot of potential. They have also done some cool collaborations with bands in the past.”

“We finally got to eat at Mockingbird last night, and it was amazing! The food was so flavorful and fresh. I loved the shrimp and grits gumbo with fried okra, and the fried green tomatoes were insanely good! Definitely get dessert! I am having dreams about the bourbon pecan pie...OMG! The space is a really beautiful mix of swanky and inviting. Like you're visiting your trendy Aunt's place for cocktails. You can dress up or down and fit right in, and the service is so friendly and welcoming, as well as attentive. Our water glasses were never empty!”

“Admittedly I came in with low expectations. I had looked at the menu and thought for the type of food the prices were high. I got the lobster Mac and cheese and my husband got the chicken and waffles. Both were outstanding and well worth the price. We lived in Boston previously and this is the most lobster I have ever gotten in a lobster Mac dish for a lower price too. My husband tried the house beer and he (as a big IPA fan) loved it. The servers were just lovely everyone there is so friendly and quick to help. We will definitely be back!”

“Wooden Sun is knowledgeable, professional, and patient. They helped me find the wood burning insert that I wanted. They did a professional job installing it. They were patient when the overall project had delays on my end and when I had lots of questions. Highly recommend this local company.”

“I love trying craft beers so if you're ever in C'ville, this is where you want to go! They have so many craft beers. The only downside is that they are pricey. If you're wanting to look for beer you can chug, then this place isn't for you. Most of the crafts are in 16oz cans of 4 and over $15, some even being nearly $30 for 4...BUT if you like trying and sipping on flavorful crafts, worth it.”

“Great restaurant with a good atmosphere, fantastic food and excellent drinks. Crispy short rib roll were delicious as an appetizer. The Fitzroy burger with added bacon was cooked perfectly and was not a grossly oversized portion. The house old fashioned was good and I like that they use syrup instead of sugar. The spiced pear mule was fantastic and I recommend that for anyone. Overall a great experience and restaurant that I will return to”

“Went for brunch one week after opening for their second brunch service ever. Things ran smoothly and the staff was friendly. magical! I am gluten and dairy free, and the wait staff was more than happy to answer my questions about the menu--and I had a lot of them! They did not have dairy free creamer or gluten free substitutions, but I am sure these things will come in time. Even without substitutions I was able to have a lovely meal with a few adjustments made by a very patient waiter. My partner had the steak with stuffed french toast and I had the omelet. Both meals were cooked and seasoned to perfection. In my opinion the star of the show was the humble potato side--crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and just magical. So glad to have been able to support this new local business. We haven't been able to stop recommending it--a far cry from some of the mediocre brunches we've had elsewhere. The price is very reasonable for the high quality of the food. We can't wait to go back again soon and are excited to try their dinner menu!”
