“Stopped by on a whim. We saw it on the way to our destination and saw they had mead, which we had never tried before. On our way back, we stopped by. We weren't sure if they were open yet since it was a little bit before the listed hours, but we figured we would try and we were glad we did! So many different types of honeys (liquid and spreadable; local and Hawaiian), different flavors of maple syrup and olive oils too! There were also some candles and soaps, I believe. And of course some local beers and mead! My husband got a flight of mead to taste ($8 for four) and I tried some as well. Really good! I'm not always a huge fan of alcoholic drinks, but I liked the mead! We also left with some local honey (raspberry) and a small honey comb, which we just tried and enjoyed! People there were very nice and knowledgeable. And I thought the live bee hive (behind glass) was really cool! Will definitely come back!”

Le Chic PicNic

“French-inspired, freshly made from scratch, and gluten free! We had a hearty beef and root vegetable stew, sweet crepes (there are savory too), quinoa salad, sesame hummus, and shrimp mousse with crackers and fresh veggies... SO GOOD! Perfect for taking with us during a tasting at the Flying Fox Vineyard tasting room, which shares their parking lot. Tables for two outside allowed for dining al fresco with a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge. Magnifique!”

“The Dark Hollow barbecue sauce was out of this world! This sauce was on the Bourbon Barrel burger and the pulled pork. The flavors were so well developed. By far the most deliciously complex barbecue sauce I've ever had! As far as beer goes, would definitely recommend the Dark Hollow and Full Nelson.”

“Awesome place. We had the most delicious smoked chicken wings with apple flavored BBQ sauce and crosscut french fries. Me and the grandkids had apple cider, the best ever. My son and daughter in law were drinking various samples of flavored hard ciders. We sat by the fireplace, but there was also patio seating and picnic tables down by the trout stream. Handicap friendly and plenty of free parking. It was a really great time we had there. Thumbs up.”

Village Inn

“This motel was well kept on the outside, clean and tidy on the inside, remodeled bathroom areas, nice furniture. Staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. Quiet area. Couldn't have been happier. No fancy stuff like big foyer, breakfast, exercise rooms, etc. Which was great for us because we just needed a clean and quiet place to stay after a wedding. Very good Italian restaurant in sight from the motel that serves lunch and dinner and a McDonald's up the road for breakfast. We will stay there again if we go to the area again.”

The inn is on a beautiful, scenic property and one of my favorite parts of our stay was walking around and visiting the farm animals. The innkeepers made sure we had everything we needed from snacks and beverages to amazing breakfasts! Their hospitality and the charming and scenic inn made for a wonderful stay. The beds were super comfortable and each room is gorgeously decorated! Be sure to enjoy the outdoor decks too. The inn is also very closet to Shenandoah and a ton of other great hiking spots, like Crabtree Falls, as well as wineries and distilleries.I can't wait to go back!”

Blue Ridge Pig

Address: 2198 Rockfish Valley Hwy, Nellysford, VA 22958, USA

Restaurant

“Drove past this place on the way to our daughter's place, and decided to give it a try. Loved all of it! The whole package! Yeah so the place isn't a fine dining establishment, but it's perfect for what it is. The pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and baked beans was amazing! Also tried the slaw that my husband had and it was amazing too! We were promptly served our food and we ate right there in shop. Loved the atmosphere. This is clearly a family owned business with young people working there too which I think is awesome! Y'all keep doing what you're doing bc it's all about the great local food and experience!”

Basic Necessities

Address: 2226 Rockfish Valley Hwy, Nellysford, VA 22958, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“Amazing little cafe the valley of the Blue Ridge. A unique find for sure. Stopped in for an early lunch with my wife and son and were glad to have a table before they got a bit busier. There isn't much room but that adds so much of the charm for this quaint cafe and grocery. The house salad was truly amazing and felt 100% more 'farm-to-table' than a lot of the fancier places claim to have. Smoked salmon was perfect as well. A perfect portion for lunch. All of the soups looked great and can't wait to try. The dressing is delicious and I wish I bought a bottle. Such a nice owner, highly recommend!”

Wild Wolf Brewing Company

“We were staying at Wintergreen with our dog and were looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this place. We are so glad we did. It has a wonderful outdoor dog-friendly seating area and the food was so good - great ribs and pulled pork. Try the peach grits- wonderful! Staff was very attentive and friendly as well. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.”

Chirios Pizza

Address: 2777 Rockfish Valley Hwy, Nellysford, VA 22958, USA

Meal delivery Meal takeaway Restaurant

“Chirio's pizza is small and didn't have enough room for my family to sit. The pizza took a long time to cook, we couldn't have the pizza and the plates on the same table so we used two tables and no one seemed to mind. The pizza was good but I would have preferred if it had a thicker crust instead of being like a piece of cardboard. What was interesting is that it had a library and toys for young children. It also had a old small TV, which makes sense, if they got a bigger one they wouldn't be able to fit customers. Overall I had a good time with my family there and wouldn't mind going back again if I had to.”
