“Wow! What a great place! We had the smokehouse chicken sandwich, market fish Rueben and onion petals. All the food was fresh prepared. Definitely no frozen prepackaged food here! Huge portions and small checks! One of the owners stopped by the table and chatted and you can see the passion is evident. The waitress was friendly and well versed on all menu items. “I can't say enough good about Thelma's. If I could give more stars, I would. This non-assuming little "food truck" packs a punch! While I thought it sounded a little weird, two of us got the special: a three cheese panini stuffed with crab meat. It was delicious! It wasn't just sprinkled with a few little chunks of crab, it was chocked full. Mom got the other special, a honey mustard chicken wrap, which according to her was good enough that she would order it again. Dad decided on the shrimp and crab meat wrap, and he devoured it. He's not much of a talker, but if he ate it all it had to be good. The meals come with a choice of chips, potato salad or coleslaw. We all got chips because they were out of coleslaw. Two stars definitely needs to be directed at the presentation. Not only did we get this delicious meal, it was fancied up with a sweet chunk of watermelon, a perfectly ripe strawberry a quarter of an orange. They put pickle spears in the cutest little elongated plastic containers to avoid tainting the rest of the food. It was a nice touch. We're in Callao several times a month and we will definitely order from here again. Note: there is a cash price, and they add a small surcharge if you use a credit card”

“My son and I love the tavern! The people who work there are mostly all volunteers. Everyone you meet there is so kind. All of the items for sale are made by local artists and some are even made right there at the tavern by the volunteers. We love to go to the blacksmiths barn and watch them make amazing things from junk metals. One of my sons favorite things to do at the tavern is to go upstairs and use the small weaving loom (he wants one for Christmas now ????). The little cafe has the most amazing food I have ever tasted!! You should definitely try the bacon, spinach and swiss quiche.. You won't regret it I promise!!!”
