Foster Harris House

We had a wonderful stay at Foster Harris House. Klaus was a great host and cooks a spectacular breakfast! The location is ideal and the rooms are extremely comfortable. We will certainly be back

My husband and I enjoyed the most delicious B&B birthday breakfast ever, served with German charm by the owner himself. The historic house, on the quiet main street of this rural tourist destination town, is spacious, decorated appropriately with exquisite taste, with soothing pastural views from the rooms. This is a wonderful place for a romantic getaway!

My wife and I have now been to the Foster Harris house three times. It is superb! We will return for more, I'm sure. Everything about F.H. is A+++. The house itself has an interesting history and the rooms are welcoming and well appointed. Klaus has set out some appropriate reading material in the charming common living room, providing us with some history, some food and wine information, and even some humor relating to couples, which I assume are the most common visitors. On top of the architecture, accoutrements, and history, the place is definitely romantic. Each room is unique and offers couples their own cozy hideaway.

But, enough about the house. Klaus provides a welcoming experience and shares stories about the house, his history in the hospitality business, and how the excellent food evolved through his experiences. He shares his recipe secrets, making them not so secret, I guess... but they are still unique and there's some new twist every time.

The town of Washington, Virginia is small in size, but it's reputation as a hub for first class lodging and dining is immense.

Thank you so much to Klaus, who welcomes us personally and warmly and remembers our past visits and preferences. After thinking about it, "superb" is probably not a good enough adjective, so pick your own after staying there.

Enjoyed our stay in well appointed comfortable rooms. Looked forward to a most delicious and different 4 course breakfast each morning! His "soon to be famous" Ginger Scones are scrumptious to say the least!! Klaus is a very gracious and accommodating host!

I've stayed here a couple of times and it is a really lovely place. Klaus and Gisele are fantastic, warm hosts. They are always there when you need something and often predict what and when you'll need it! The rooms are very pretty and the grounds are quiet and beautiful. I only regret that I never seem to have enough time to fully enjoy everything it has to offer!
