“Madrone is a very unassuming cute little spot that we almost passed right by! Thank goodness we didn't! We were greeted by two very lovely ladies and decided to do tastings instead of glasses of wine. She offered to bring them out to the lovely deck and of course we agreed on such a gorgeous day! We sampled 5 wines, each one unique in flavor and body. All were delicious! The deck is stunning having just been rebuilt after a devastating fire 6 weeks prior. Service was great, wines were great and the area was great! We'll definitely be back!”

“found this gem while exploring Friday Harbor in the fall. Such a lovely setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of delicious wine, food and gifts too.”

“Awesome place to try unique and delicious wines! Picnik offers wine flights that change WEEKLY and every wine was delicious, and often very unique. (For example, they had an Octoberfest tasting of German and Austrian wines this week) The owners are very friendly and really know their wine. They even had a good non-alcoholic rose available. If you are visiting Friday Harbor, this place is a must-visit for sure. We will definitely be back!”

“We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with crinkle fries. BBQ sauce had a wonderful fruitiness to it. Hours are correct on Google which is somewhat of a rarity in Friday Harbor. Servic was fantastic, dining room what cute and themed, food tasted great. Also, comparatively affordable compared to many of the take out options here. I will 100% Be going back”

“Very good food and beer! My constructive criticism would be to limit the amount of salad with the calamari and increase the amount of calamari. There wasn't enough for the price in my opinion, and I wouldn't get it again. The burger and fries were amazing. The stout was delicious. I wish the porter had more of a bite/flavor to it when compared to porters I have sampled.”

“Be prepared for a historical experience! Super old building (Tends to be a little musty if you don’t open a window) with rooms that share bathrooms. The bathroom is right across the hall and I walked around in my robe after a shower plenty of times with nobody around, so you don’t have to worry about privacy. The door locks and you have a shower, toilet and sink with mirror to yourself so it’s not a public restroom by any means. There is also a sink with mirror and towels in the room for getting ready which is a super nice touch. first we found it a little odd but actually loved the eclecticism. Nice balcony to sip coffee and overlook the marina. Super nice staff (thank you Jacob for accommodating us.) extremely comfy beds, down pillows and comforters, with extra blankets and pillows provided in the closet along with an iron and hangers. I appreciated the box fan in the room for some ventilation and white noise. The rooms were apparently booked but we barely heard anyone besides the creaky floors. We spent all day one day relaxing and catching up on work, and this was the perfect place for it. No internet connection so we had to use Roche harbor WiFi which wasn’t the best from our spot. The overall vibe of the place made up for the little touches that a newer hotel may have. We really enjoyed the experience”

“Sometimes I go to a nice restaurant knowing full well that I am paying for atmosphere and that the food, while good, can be had somewhere else for a lower price tag. Not here. Duck Soup sits at the precipice in its class. From the cocktails to the appetizers to the main course and the atmosphere this place has impressed; and, I set my reservation with very high expectations already. Their vegetarian options are iust as good as their non-vegetarian options. This place is stellar and I am going to remember to eat here as often as I find myself on the island.”

“Tina’s Tacos was amazing!! It was the perfect balance of authentic with a little Tex-Mex mixed it. I ordered the tacos and guacamole and they were amazing! The guacamole is obviously homemade and it is to die for! Every time I visit the Island this will be my first stop! Great place! Highly recommend!”

“My boyfriend and I stopped by while visiting Friday Harbor and we really enjoyed this place. It has such a small town feel, the staff knew the names of every person that we saw walk in; they were very friendly. We both ordered a burger and fries and were very pleased with our food. It was delicious and fresh. Will definitely stop by next time we are on the island.”

“We have gone several times and it is one of our favorite spots when we visit the island. So far all of the dishes have been great. I am not a "veagan" but they have great food rotating beers and a great selection of wines. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The soft pretzels were great as a snack. Great place to stop while on the island for lunch and dinner or when just waiting for the ferry.”

“Had an unbelievable time at the aerial hoop retreat. The level of instruction is very high and the classes are structured to meet everyone's ability level. The food is excellent and the amenities are very thoughtful, makes you feel like you're at home. Very low stress holiday as everything is arranged for you (airport pickup, all meals, beach trip, turtle release, night market etc). I'm quite shy and was worried about feeling out of place travelling alone, but Kerri is extremely inclusive. Felt like circus summer camp for grown ups. I was so sad to leave.”

“Just had breakfast here while waiting for the ferry to arrive and we were not disappointed. Very friendly and quick service. The food was on point. I had the California Eggs Benedict but had them add their homemade corned beef to it and my husband had the chicken fried steak. My nieces and nephew all had the kids flap jacks and hot cocoas. We will definitely eat here again.”

“My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out while we were staying in Friday Harbor and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Margherita pizza and we both agree that it was the best pizza we had ever had. The sauce was delicious and we are so bummed that we don’t live close enough to get their pizza whenever we would like. Also, would like to mention how friendly and personable the staff was. Will definitely go back if we are ever on the island again.”
