“Adorable and extremely helpful.!!! They had a product that is hard to find in co-ops all over Puget Sound!! (Hot cinnamon bears treats) Thankyou, ....parking can be a pinch, so park at the 'other' grocery and walk half a block over.”

“I ordered the burrito. It tasted fine and was decent size. The food took a long time to make. Like 30+ minutes, which is a long time for a street vendor. I went there cause I thought it would be quicker than other restaurants bc I needed to leave for the ferry. The grill was open and they just seemed to not be well organized. The staff was friendly.”

“This is an amazing place! Service is terrific, huge effort and improvement over tough times during Covid pandemic. Food was soo Amazing we didn’t even had time to take photo. We had fish and chips several times (soo good), onion rings super great and pizza - wow!!! We will be back”

“Madrone is a very unassuming cute little spot that we almost passed right by! Thank goodness we didn't! We were greeted by two very lovely ladies and decided to do tastings instead of glasses of wine. She offered to bring them out to the lovely deck and of course we agreed on such a gorgeous day! We sampled 5 wines, each one unique in flavor and body. All were delicious! The deck is stunning having just been rebuilt after a devastating fire 6 weeks prior. Service was great, wines were great and the area was great! We'll definitely be back!”

“found this gem while exploring Friday Harbor in the fall. Such a lovely setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of delicious wine, food and gifts too.”

“I stopped here to grab a bite to eat before exploring the island. I got the fish and chips and a house salad and both were very good! The slaw was extra amazing -- it was so fresh and crunchy and the dressing was a bit on the creamier side, not watery. The girl serving me was super attentive and nice. I dropped my knife and I didn't want to make a fuss so I just went about eating but she noticed right away and got me a new one. Everyone on the island is so nice, but this was such a nice first impression :)”

“If you are looking for a good/chill/relaxing place to enjoy a beer/cider/soda, this is a great brewery to visit. Plenty of seating, heating lamps, etc. parking is located on the hill to the right of the brewery incase you miss the sign right when you turn off the main road. Staff was friendly and efficient. Good beers, cider and soda!”

“Can’t add photos because I scarfed down the tacos too fast. His homemade mustard is just the right amount of spice and the right amount of crunch. 10/10! Add that on the fried oyster taco and you got a ticket to taste bud heaven. ¡Buen viaje!”

“Every portion of the meal was a refined and playful experience. I would highly recommend anyone who wants an experience is outside the norm, but not the feeling of pretentiousness for its own sake. Get a reservation or get there early and enjoy a tasty treat.”

“Shawn the waiter today. I have been here before had great service. Shawn seated us promptly as it wasn’t super busy. We got some water at that time and he said “I’ll be right back”. Again, there were only 4 tables being served, including us! We waited 20 minutes as he passed by 4 times serving the other tables, apologizing to them that their drink took so long, never asking us for our order. I didn’t flag him because I wanted to see the type of service he would provide, major FAIL!! On His part Needless to say, we left and went to the Lower Tavern instead. Great service had a drink within 5 minutes and within 10 minutes had our food. The owner did call me back and offered compensation which is Amazing so instead of a 1 star I will rate the establishment a 4 star because of the owners response. It is what it is, not everyone is cut out for that sort of job! Thank you Shelbie for quality service as a business owner.”

“Awesome place to try unique and delicious wines! Picnik offers wine flights that change WEEKLY and every wine was delicious, and often very unique. (For example, they had an Octoberfest tasting of German and Austrian wines this week) The owners are very friendly and really know their wine. They even had a good non-alcoholic rose available. If you are visiting Friday Harbor, this place is a must-visit for sure. We will definitely be back!”

“We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with crinkle fries. BBQ sauce had a wonderful fruitiness to it. Hours are correct on Google which is somewhat of a rarity in Friday Harbor. Servic was fantastic, dining room what cute and themed, food tasted great. Also, comparatively affordable compared to many of the take out options here. I will 100% Be going back”

“Very good food and beer! My constructive criticism would be to limit the amount of salad with the calamari and increase the amount of calamari. There wasn't enough for the price in my opinion, and I wouldn't get it again. The burger and fries were amazing. The stout was delicious. I wish the porter had more of a bite/flavor to it when compared to porters I have sampled.”

“You know it’s good when you can’t be bothered to take any pictures when you first get it! These will have to do for now, but “fresh” photos next time (because there will be a next time!) Delicious individual-ish pies that easily feed two or make for great leftovers at a great price. Also serving up amazing and HUGE cookies. I don’t go in for sweets normally, but these are worth it. Pizza seasoning is spot on and the ingredients are top notch, but the star is really the dough. They may not be using NYC tap water, but it’s just as good as any slice I’ve had on the east coast. Throw in the great location and multiple parks within walking distance to chow down and you’ve got a must try.”

“Be prepared for a historical experience! Super old building (Tends to be a little musty if you don’t open a window) with rooms that share bathrooms. The bathroom is right across the hall and I walked around in my robe after a shower plenty of times with nobody around, so you don’t have to worry about privacy. The door locks and you have a shower, toilet and sink with mirror to yourself so it’s not a public restroom by any means. There is also a sink with mirror and towels in the room for getting ready which is a super nice touch. first we found it a little odd but actually loved the eclecticism. Nice balcony to sip coffee and overlook the marina. Super nice staff (thank you Jacob for accommodating us.) extremely comfy beds, down pillows and comforters, with extra blankets and pillows provided in the closet along with an iron and hangers. I appreciated the box fan in the room for some ventilation and white noise. The rooms were apparently booked but we barely heard anyone besides the creaky floors. We spent all day one day relaxing and catching up on work, and this was the perfect place for it. No internet connection so we had to use Roche harbor WiFi which wasn’t the best from our spot. The overall vibe of the place made up for the little touches that a newer hotel may have. We really enjoyed the experience”

“I ordered takeout Puttanesca and was very impressed. Fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables, complimented by delightful olives and cheese. Wow!! I showed up a few minutes early for my takeout and also had the chance to take in the incredible view. I hope to come back to the resort as a guest and try more of the Cafe meals.”

“I thought I had reviewed the loft after returning to Texas from our trip two months ago....apparently I had not. Our dinner(s) we’re so good during our four nights on the island, I continue to follow their menu changes in hopes I can get back sooner than later to have more dinners! The staff here is wonderful, energetic, passionate about their offerings and very warm and welcoming. The food was, by far, the best on the island (in our opinion)!!!! I hope everyone has a chance to visit this little rooftop gem at least one time in their life!”

“We met the owner and she's very nice. The food and wine tastes great. Definitely coming back for more authentic Italian cuisine. The freshly baked Focaccia was absolutely perfect. The apple crisp pie with vanilla ice cream is extremely delicious, not heavily cinnamon and the apple tastes great.”

“We were visiting friends on San Juan Island and we took their boat over to Olga and walked up to the restaurant. We were a large group so we walked around the gallery while we waited for lunch. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and provided locally. It was fresh and flavorful and very filling. Breakfast was served all day so we had a mix of that and lunch items. I loved that the kitchen was open and you could watch the work.”
