Delicious, affordable burgers made from fresh beef from the butcher across the street. Nice selection of beers.

I was brought here by some friends who set very high expectations. Oakcrest definitely followed through.

I ordered the cheeseburger with fries and was so impressed. They make their burgers with "steak trimmings" from Knoche's butcher across the street -- whatever ends up in that burger makes it out to be the best burger that I have had yet in Madison. If you're in Madison around the West side, check out Oakcrest.

Word to the wise: show up early! Seats fill up fast.

I've ridden bike and commuted past this place for decades and never stopped in. But I stopped in last week with a couple friends familiar with it. I shouldn't have waited so long.

Wait staff was prompt and polite. Food was prepared quickly. We ordered a couple burgers and a Reuben. All prepared well. Burgers had a nice bite one gets from a nice hot grill. A very nice lunch. Only thing I'd point out is that seats fill up. Stop in either a little early for lunch or come a little later. Seems like lots of people know about this place.

Four of us went together. We each tried something different. Everyone was happy with their food. French fries were also light and delicious, not one was left over ???? The tavern was almost full and the service was still excellent. No concerns. Will definitely be back.
