“Soups were delicious as always. I was quite disappointed in the quality put into my sandwich though. My sister and I both ordered sandwiches with avocado and found them to be extremely hard avocados. And I mean hard like this thing flew across the table when I tried to press it with a knife. Like ok a had avocado but when I told the manager about it he only said that they've been having problems with their supplier and that he personally wouldn't have served it but their it away, he apologized but that was all. Hearing from people who've gone to this location before the avocado problem is not new and has been neglected to be remedied as they've served hard avocados for a long while. I also wonder about other service at this location as a lady complained about her iced coffee being pale and flavorless. Like I said soups are great but probably best to avoid anything with avocado in it”

“Had dinner on 5/3/19. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place was about 90% full, and it took about 30 minutes to get our food. It's not bad, just plan on having a drink in hand. Beer selection was great. BBQ platter was pretty good; the smoked chicken wings were 10/10. Brisket was also good, and pulled pork was decent. Frites were quite good, and their soft pretzel is among the best in Madison. Only negative was just how loud it was. It did seem to get a bit quieter after 8:30 or so, but it was hard to have a conversation at times. Also, one of our appetizers came out after our entrees did. It wasn't a big deal, but it was a bit odd.”

“The Pancake Cafe was fine for what it is; a chain breakfast restaurant. The service was fine but not extraordinary, and the food was the same. I will say this, though. You definitely get your money's worth; the portion sizes were HUGE! I ordered a five egg omelette as my meal with no intention of having anything else, only to find out that it came with hash browns and three full size pancakes. The only real complaint I have is regarding the cleanliness; it's evident from little things (like the dirt and crumbs in the bottom of the sugar caddy or the musty smell of the carpet, particularly near the restrooms) that attention to detail is not a priority. Other than that, our visit was fine. I'd say we'd be back, but we're in town from Georgia visiting family, so that's unlikely.”

“A nice addition to the Verona coffee shop selection. Trendy interior and a helpful, kind staff. It’s a beautiful space with lots of seating options. The bakery is tasty and from a local vendor, Rosie’s Bakery. The coffee is from Rusty Dog, also a Madison vendor. I appreciate the partnership with local businesses. I’m not a huge fan of the coffee myself as it veers on the darker side. That said, I think the shop will satisfy the typical coffee consumer.”

“The library is my bf and I's favorite spot on campus. This cozy little nook is tucked away right in the middle of the intersection across from the engineering campus. No parking lot means the only way to get here is on foot. As far as seating, there's the bar, high tables, and normal tables along with a nice big L couch right in the middle. The food is decently priced and is decent quality. I don't love their fries (they're the long crispy type), but their sandwiches are true to description and have always been enough to fill us up. The drink selection is pretty great, and they always have deals. Beyond the bar, they have a wide variety of lattes for those cold winter evenings. This bar has a reputation for being nerdy, and I love that about it.”

“I've been to their other location which has GREAT food but dismal atmosphere. I thought I might give this one a try which is in a much nicer setting. We knew they closed at 2, so we got there at 1.20, hoping to have plenty of time to order and eat. It was incredibly busy and there did not seem to be enough servers to cover all the tables. We were seated right away, but by the time someone took our order, it was 1.45. When we placed our order, we were told they did not have enough time to make our food. I told the server, we've been waiting to place our order for over 20 minutes. She was apologetic and went and got the manager, who told us the same thing, less apologetically. When we told her we'd been waiting over 20 minutes to place our order she rolled her eyes. At that point, we got up and left. I know the food is good, I'll give them another chance. It was not the server's fault, I watched her work every table before she got to us. The manager could have been kinder and they should have been willing to accommodate us.”

“I come here way too frequently because it is convenient for me. The staff is friendly and welcoming. When I first started coming here it seemed like they were really short staffed but they never let that stop them from giving high quality service. It seems like they slowly got staffed up and now they are even better. Like I said I come here frequently enough that they know my name and obviously I would not do that if I didn't think it was worth my money. There are plenty of other places to grab a quick breakfast while I wait for the Law Library to open.”
