“Outdoor Fine Dining. We were headed to eat somewhere else but my wife always likes to eat on the water and preferably, outside. We also like excellent food. As we decided to skip our original destination, we walked over here to check it out. The outside looked great. Once we saw the name, we realized it was a place we had heard as highly rated. The service here is extremely professional, just as fine dining, even though the setting is very casual. The menu is top-notch and refined. We enjoyed the meal, the evening, and the experience. It's a little pricey, so not an every night sort of thing, but if you know and appreciate fine restaurant experience, and don't want to eat indoors, then you will love this.”

“There are not many places to eat in Baileys Harbor. The place, itself, is cute - lined with antiques and a rustic cabin feel. My hot dog was good, served with a bag of chips and relish in a packet with a side of fresh sliced tomato and lettuce, and priced well. Not a huge menu, good beer menu, family-friendly enough - good for a quick, cheap bite, and you get what you pay for.”

“If I could give it a 10/5 I would! My husband and I had an anniversary dinner here a few months back and it was so amazing, were still talking about it! It was ok a Friday during Lent and so we were a little worried because we couldn’t have any meat options, but to be honest, I think we might have the meatless options the next time we eat at Chives, because we weren’t satisfied in the least! We might drive to Door County just to eat at Chives! :)”

“Who would have thought when you say ‘gas station sandwich’ that it’s actually a good thing. They have an amazing deli in the back that will make you a custom order sandwich. Would have liked a choice of chips rather than plain lays, but that’s a small price to pay for a delicious lunch.”

“Unfortunately, our latest pass through the Pub was disappointing. Perhaps the wait staff was having a bad day, but we were met with impatience and overall lack of friendliness. It seemed that the paying customers were a nuisance, rather than valued guests. We were also disappointed to learn that the pub closes earlier than the Birch Creek shows let out (or after the dinner hours are over, for that matter) - seems like such a missed opportunity to serve hungry customers. The place was pretty empty for a weekend afternoon, and we couldn't help but wonder if it was a result of a decline in customer service. In any case, the food we had was pretty good, as were the drinks. All in all, it will likely fall down our list of places to go when we're in town, though not completely out of the question.”

“Knowledgeable staff and a good tasting experience. A little steep on the price (either $12 or $8 depending on what you’d like to drink) but worth it; we worked with Michael, an older gentleman who really knew what he was talking about. He gave us great recommendations and (even with a tasting room packed full of people) made sure we were attended to. We plan to visit again in the future if we’re in the area!”

“Love the burgers. Always cooked right. Our kid enjoyed watching the train go by. In between orders the characters on the train cars. The first time was Toy Story characters, then the train brought our food. The next round, the characters were Peppa Pig, then it brought food for a couple at one end of the counter. The last round was a variety of characters from Paw Patrol to Dino Train. The counter and tables are made out reclaimed wooden doors. They even have a room up the stairs filled with toys. Across the parking is their pizza place with really good pizza. They also have an outdoor playground and carts for not only kids but adults to peddle around on a dirt track. We love visiting this place when we are in the area.”

“Bar tender was great, beers are cold, service w a smile, food was great but kitchen not optimized for service. Ordered two chili’s a salad and a sandwich....around an hour to get the food. Two chili orders take like ten seconds each. The salad was delicious but I assume it is all there to be thrown in a box. The sandwich, albeit grilled and with fries....come on like ten minutes. Place has a beautiful view and again drinks a flowing but give some time until they get the kitchen in check.”

“We stayed in the original lodge, which has smaller rooms, but they are up-to-date and comfortable. This is not a sterile, run-of-the-mill chain hotel. It's quite charming with an attached restaurant which serves great food. The service at the hotel was fantastic. I felt really cared for as a customer. I hope to return soon.”

“Excellent food and excellent service. The quality is top notch and menu diverse enough for all palates. We were hoping it was as good as their old mission grill in sister bay and it didn't disappoint at all. We were pleasantly surprised and will be coming regularly now. Try the mac and ribs you won't be disappointed.”
